Let’s hope the ITK comes off and we get two more over the line. We’ve done well to get nine points but we haven’t looked amazing.

It’s starting to look like our transfer kitty was actually coming from a Kane sale to me…

Totally. Which would make sense really

Funnily enough I can see the opposite - clubs needing money to pay bills/balance the books cutting prices to get sales.

Yeah, particularly teams who have players in their last year of contracts will be more open to lowering down their prices today and tomorrow. Players like Kessie, Pelegrino, Zakaria, Corona, Ginter, Belotti, Brozovic, Insigne, Camavinga, Dybala their selling clubs will be more flexible now with incoming offers.

When all’s said and done, bar perhaps Romero (who is unlikely to start many games in coming weeks) we haven’t made one signing that improves/affects first 11. Unlikely we sign that type of player now in 48 hours.

Jules is not happening! Was only option with Sanchez involved. And as I said before season started, he refused, and wanted to prove himself. Serge is proving tricky, and might end up staying to compete for RB, when fit enough. This May impact our pursuit of Tomiyasu; which was loan with option, which Bologna refused. Traoré update I have, but will wait until later before I post. Let’s just say today is the telling day with that one.

Bryan Gil played yesterday does that not affect the starting 11?

I don't understand the surprise? You'd be hard pressed to find one fan who would have been happy with one first team player coming into the squad all summer, especially given all the talk of a rebuild with Paratici. I'm really not sure how anyone can argue we've improved much personnel wise if we don't bring anyone else in.

Under Jose yes, but perhaps not now with Nuno. Personally I think we have more pressing needs elsewhere.

I meant that we needed more as a squad than Romero (one first team CB) not that we need one more CB, sorry that was unclear.

I actually agree on the CB front, I think the pressing needs are a forward and a creative midfielder (if we can't shift Aurier as Herc suggests).

2 mins at the end of the game, really? He’s going to be used like that for the next few months in the league minimum. Will he start 10 games, get 8/9 goals/assists in the league before Christmas? Unlikely. We need a couple of established players in midfield. We signed PEH last summer and he played every match. We haven’t made a single signing like that this summer.

Bryan Gil played yesterday.

I love the look of him but he played for the first time in the Prem this season and got 4 minutes. He replaced Lamela who was also a valuable squad player. Gil is not yet a quality first team player, and Gollini is a back up keeper. Romero is the only significant upgrade we've made.

Anyway, not for this thread so will just have fingers crossed Herc's update on Adama later is positive!

Edit: by first team player, I mean starter.

I take your point but Hojbjerg filled a gaping hole and I guess we'll have to see about Gil.

If we get players in - great

If we don’t - fine (9pts from 3 games)

If we manage to get some outgoings - great

If we don’t - fine, I hope they contribute if and when needed.

Some people just want to clog the thread with their complaining.

We were top of the league at one point last season and still ended up in seventh place, and it also looks like the internationals will have a negative impact on the squad. We need players.

I couldn’t disagree more!
