He's not choosing us over Barcelona, let's be honest.

An opportunity to go back to the club he started at - I just hope the 'Conte wasn't fussed' line coming out at the moment isn't spin.

They have probably agreed a loan until the summer on favourable terms, with a larger fee agreed for the summer to compensate. Just kicking the can further down the road and topping up their debt.

Sounds like us with our loan to buy options :)

Adama to Spurs was always a weird fit and we've all invested too much time in trying to convince ourselves he would be a great RWB convert having shown no particular ability to do that role before. Like with Dusan the worry is the lack of other links so we have to hang everything on this one and who knows good ol Mendes could have been schmoozing with Barca this entire window while we tried to wrap up this deal.

As I posted yesterday from what I've been hearing all along(and have posted elsewhere more than once) it wasn't us delaying it mate, we were happy to pay the fee. Mendes was sorting replacements and moving pieces of his jigsaw to accommodate the deal, which was holding it up. I posted on here weeks ago that the Mendes Merry go round was heating up, because that supposedly was what was enabling this deal to go through. It was never a financial issue.

The thing is ultimately if the player prefers Barca, that's that. Mendez can just turn around to us and say he was looking after his player's interests.

We are stuck with Doherty and Emerson for at least another 6 months, I want to cry. Slow and Slower down the wing.

Massive part of Conte's system and we have 2 rubbish and slow offensive players there. If Conte finishes top 4 he deserves a medal.

I will pray we sign a quality, quick right wing back before Monday.

Ffs, another of about 6 positions we need to address in the summer now. Not a chance we get a CM or two, CB, ST, RWB in one window.

Of course, it is what it is. That doesn't alter the fact it has been him holding it up all along, and not a couple of million pounds we were supposedly haggling over.

it definitely feels like spin but let's see what else we bring in. Just getting the the midfielder from fiorentina isn't good enough.

Blessing in disguise if he goes to Barca.

He's not a RWB and will end up as yet another impact player off the bench as he's too inconsistent to start every game in the front 3 or reliably defend as a wing back. Don't know why so many people think he will revolutionise our attack when he's always been a rotational option at Wolves.

Would much rather we sign a proper, dedicated attacking RWB for the long term than trying to shoe-horn in Traore cos he's Paratici's pet project. Doesn't even sound like Conte is that fussed about him.

I'd still wait to see whether a more reputable source starts running with this - they player probably does prefer a move to Barca but whether or not they actually make a move is another matter.
