I don't like doing this.

But

I can't stand Hojbjerg as a footballer. I hate to see players who play so one dimensional and don't have the ability to move in all directions, move the ball quickly and play with intelligence when defending

He's not the only one tonight.

But players like him and Winks should not be starters for a team that has big ambition.

It started with Reguilon switching off in the first five minutes (as he does all too often), and gifting them a chance that they should have taken. From that moment on the nervousness spread across the back four and Saints scented blood. Emerson is a shower defensively and doesn't have the attacking instincts to play wing back. Doherty cannot do any worse. As for Sanchez... he's reaching Anthony Gardner levels of ineptitude. Dier will be back soon so hopefully we won't witness another Sanchez masterclass for a while. And sad to say it, but Conte has to shoulder some of the blame for that. He could have dropped Son or Lucas back into midfield to stiffen things up after ten minutes. And to allow Saints to score two carbon copy goals... just who was tasked with marking Ward-Prowse???

not doing any formation change after 35 min was shit, everyone saw that our midfield got overrun and Son was just positioning on the left side not doing anything. Does not help having 3 attackers when Southampton just owned us tactically and we never ahve a chance to give them the ball.

Agree whole team did not play well, but there are a few seriously poor players in there at the moment making the same mistakes week in and week out. Skipp and diet will eliviate some of that hopefully

Not sure if I want Paratici buying for us/overseeing this rebuild, the early signs are not great, not convinced his signings are better than the deadwood we let go

Just wondering how much more interesting the Amazon documentary would be with Conte starring.

I imagine he goes ape in the dressing room after games like this and is pretty terrifying. At least I hope so.

It's not like that defensive display hasn't been coming for ages. Not reinforcing the defense in January was already pretty inexcusable but today just highlighted how screwed we are at wing-back.

I think top four will be gone soon. Look at way we play vs a team at the bottom half of table. Look at the away games we have left: Man U, Liverpool and Man City.

And it doesn't matter how good Bentancur is when you have a clown as a RWB.

Winks can just fuck off. He’s a fucking fraud. How he got 90 minutes blows my fucking mind. The guy is a fucking coward. PEH is not much better, but at least has some semblance of an impact in the final third. And as for fucking Royal he literally has no business being on a football pitch. Barca must be absolutely pissing themselves.

We all know this is a rebuild and we are still way short. We are targeting a CM, RWB, CB and a forward in the Summer. Today that was exactly where we struggled. Sanchez, Royal, Winks and PEH were all poor. Can't get Diet and Skipp back quick enough, and people laughed a couple of weeks back when I said Doherty was far better than Royal and should be starting, thoughts now?
