Was very tense game but at no stage did I feel like we was nervous and under threat. One Antonio chance aside they didn’t threaten. I like how we are now starting to dictate play again, not sitting back for the counter all time. Get Conte the players he wants in the summer and it really could be exciting times ahead, whether we make top 4 or not this year. He has the players fitter, playing patterns and invested in the club.
Same here, it's just that sneaky thought in the back of the mind reminding you of that Lanzini equalizer when we were 2-1 up

I felt safe once Antonio was subbed, as that f***er would have one leg and still find a way to score against us

This is the first game where I’ve really seen the issue we have with the wingbacks in terms of the system. To clarify, they are all fine players, and to play the way we have been the past few weeks with arguably the two most important players in the system lacking a bit behind the rest is impressive. But I think with two new players who combine top athleticism and final-third difference making in these roles, this team/system explodes into something lethal offensively.

We need to bin Reguilon emerson Doherty and get 3 new full backs. The best 3 we can realistically get

I said after the Brighton game that it was the first time I saw real improvement and direction. This game built on that. The team seems now to have a rhythm to its play.

As an Essex Boy it's always wonderful to put the Eel muching Canning Town Bingo & Social Club in their place. With a bit more luck it could and probably should have been 4 or 5-1.

Granted, they looked a little leggy, but that was a very solid performance. Rice couldn’t get near Bentancu.

The one down side was our vulnerability form corners. The one they scored form Son started out marking Dawson (who is one of their best attackers of a ball), passed him on top Doherty so he could track Benrahma, and then did not track him anyway. I think we're at the point where we'd just be better off having the likes of Reguilon and Son on the posts (which would stop most of the goals we concede from corners)

We need West Ham out of the Europa ASAP. If they win it and an English club wins CL (highly likely)
Then 4th place goes into Europa. Only 5 clubs can go in the CL.
Tanguy needs to pull his finger out. Probably Barca await in semis if they do get past Lyon.

I think in Bentancur we finally have our Dembele replacement. Different style, but equally effective at breaking up play, getting out of tight spots and quickly transitioning.
