My pal from Liverpool asked me, "Can you recommend anywhere to visit in Europe?"

I said, "You can't beat Madrid at this time of year!"

Honestly I think this is the least “great” Liverpool season we will see in at least 3 years. This isn’t recently bias because I’ve thought about it for some time now.

All team cycle comes to an end, theirs has ended now. Van Dijk is still world class but he’s starting to get some injuries and hasn’t been as good as before. Matip 1 year older. Their midfield is dead. Thiago their best midfielder 1 year older + injury prone. Keita injury prone & inconsistent. Henderson not good enough for this level. Milner old. Fabinho has declined. Ox, does he even exist? They got young players like Curtis Jones & Harvey Elliott but they’re not ready to take the next step yet

In attack they will lose Mane. Salah has been dogshit for 6 months now and may even leave. Diaz end product is a question mark. Jota not good enough to be a starter. Firminho becoming finished, Origi leaving, Minamino barely plays. They signed Fabio Carvalho, smart signing but one for the future
This Liverpool squad won’t compete for the big trophies next season, I can almost guarantee it. Their owners won’t spend the big money they need to rebuild the team, while we under World Class Conte will spend over 200M
Man City is the only team that scares me in the Premier League, the rest won’t be a competition for us

I agree with this but I think their defence is fine. Their midfield needs work but it's their attack that is now in question. Huge question marks. I do think jota is great and is a starter.

They will strengthen but not sure with who... I think they need three.

They're still a very good team and to play every game this season is a huge achievement but do think it's nearing its end of its cycle like you say. Needs a huge refresh.

This time round they haven't got a Coutinho to sell to fund it

They’re obviously gonna be a good team next season but as I said they won’t compete for the big trophies. Their defence is still fine I agree with you, disagree with Jota being good enough to be a starter, even Liverpool fans has said that

Also their owners has shown they won’t spent big money, that’s why Liverpool fans are frustrated

Diaz is a fantastic player, I do really rate him.

But at the same time, hes not yet shown to be able to rack up the numbers Mane and Salah had done.

That's probably premature of me to say, as he's only been there 5 mins. But I do think it highlights the need for someone other than Salah to step up because in these last couple of months their frontline has flagged a little.

It's still scoring but probably not at the free flowing rate it had been.

Mane and Salah didn't look like scoring tonight, neither did they versus us a few weeks ago and Diaz's whilst being brilliant, hasn't really picked up that mantel.
