In terms of profile, Nunez feels more like someone we'd target. Can play up top and off the left. Although does feel as though Benfica are looking to drum up an auction for him and so not sure we'll hang around too long if that happens especially if the likes of Utd are involved.

Don't forget just how much business Mendes has done with United in the past, and who his number 1 client is. I don't think there would be an issue with the fee. We were more than willing to lay out that for Diaz. Nunez 100% fits the bill of being able to play across the front line or as a 10. Would be a perfect signing for me.

Interesting. I always thought Nunez was a pure number 9. Good to know he had the versatility to play across all the forward positions. Definitely seems a sensible purchase if that’s the case.

Yeah might well be the case. I really like Nunez, and we all know he's one we are looking at. I do feel as though he's not the main one Conte wants for that role, but I think he's probably the most attainable.

Have you seen a lot of Nunez? I've heard a lot of people saying that physically he's fantastic, but technically very suspect (inconsistent first touch, and passing. Not the best dribbler, Can't hold the ball up etc etc basically the Uruguayan Lukaku) . What's your take?

Well, if Spurs now are in the beginning of an evolution, who’s better to be a part of it then Darwin himself? ?

This one I can definitely see happening with the Mendes/Paratici relationship.

It's just whether we'll spend £50m on a forward.
Wasn't it Mendes who told Liverpool that we had bid for Diaz in January and they then signed him while
we were still negotiating for him?

Thread for Nunez?
After Sissoko I personally can’t stand non-technical footballers. No matter how many goals penalty or otherwise they have scored.

Hmm... we may have to choose between Darwin and Jesus!
Darwin is able to evolve his game to suit his environment whereas Christ has a habit of resurrecting hope from lost causes. And he’s ace on crosses. Sometimes it seems like he can hang in the air for days

Plus we have had contact in the past when Mourinho was manager, but that summer we went for Vinicius instead. I know he’s changed agent but the player will know we’ve fancied him in the past.

Have asked, and Nunez is not the priority forward!
Cheers for the info Trix. I think we’ll go for a similar skill set, and someone on the right side of 25 as most of our forward players, bar Deki & Bergwijn (who’ll likely leave) are on the wrong side. Succession planning in this area of the team is needed, imo.
