See I think the opposite. We need to start thinking beyond Kane and Son in terms of age and transition. They are 50 goals/20 assists a season easy. That’s a hell of a lot of output, we cannot afford to have any period where there is a drop off

You're right a totally bizarre phrase, perhaps have a look back and see why I used it because there was a reason? That reason was I was directly quoting the poster I was replying to.

Nah it's out there mate. Wasn't pissed up either, was up drinking late because it was my mates 50th and was on a zoom with him and some of my old school mates. He's not in the UK now hence the time.Pretty sure Trix was direct quoting someone who used that phrase IIRC. My money is on a pissed up Trix thought it was funny at 3am to mess with us all, and never posted one in the first place

There are plenty of reasons for cryptics, like sensitive information etc but apart from all that, it's a bit of fun.
A transfer window without a cryptic, is a boring transfer window in my opinion.
And I say that as someone who is useless at them, so bad that I don't even bother trying anymore, I just enjoy other people's attempts.
