No way are we paying 25m for Spence. Time for Paratici to link us with other RWBs, they say he always has a number of options lined up. Get his dogs Romano and DiMarzo to stir it up.
Should be looking at Nahel Molina at Udinese who wouldnt be as expensive, but I suppose its the HG situation.

United seem to be struggling to get deals done atm. Never underestimate their ability to overpay for anyone in such circumstances. Their fans, as we have seen today, are not happy.

Surely champions league nights in the best stadium in the world is better than money at Utd..

I dont think his decision is United or Spurs, I think its between Brentford & Spurs given he wants to be in London. There was some news last week that Thomas Frank was having dinner with Eriksen to try to convince him (who was still undecided then)

A fee for Spence in the region of 25 million would make Spence the second-most expensive Championship player ever (at least in terms of players who actually played in the Championship that season, rather players like Sissoko leaving relegated clubs), behind only Ollie Watkins on his move from Brentford to Villa and ahead of Jude Bellingham moving from Birmingham to Dortmund.

It may be what Middlesbrough want, and I can't blame them for asking, but I don't think they'll get all of that.

Spence feels like one of those transfers where it’s just a matter of time, a compromise will be found.

Eriksen is likely looking at his last serious contract in football, so I appreciate why he is taking his time to make his decision

That makes sense regarding Eriksen.

Would only go to United for ridiculous money.

They've obviously offered enough to make him think about it...or his camp has set a baseline to United and the balls in their court.

Either way we're on ice until they determine how much the can rinse United.

The cold reality of it all probably.

Spence add ons should be based on England caps. 1m for every cap up to 15 caps. Because if he plays for England ahead of Walker, TAA and James it means we have the best right back in the league anyway.

You’re not taking into account the fact that Southgate is the manager ?

How do you know? Things might be exactly where they need to be and in actual fact looking really promising...

What were you expecting? To complete all our signings in one go? Like a Xmas list and a visit to Argos?
Argos? Sounds like we are pushing the boat out more, and heading to John Lewis...

Perhaps Boro could have Parrot or Devine on loan for a season as part of the negotiations.

As for Eriksen I expect if it's got closer for us its because he was asking for ludicrous money from United and have said no chance.

I hope it was just a case of chancing their arm because he didn't really want to go there, so wanted to be massively(and I mean massively) compensated for doing so.
Spurs supporting mate of mine has a very high up contact at Utd. What this contact told him a week or so ago is exactly as you describe - that Eriksen’s agent demanded a contract equal to that of their highest paid player. And given that Ronaldo earns £500K per week, that was a total non starter.

As you say, no harm Eriksen chancing his arm but it’s as good as saying that he didn’t want to go there.

That would make me hopeful. Ties in with journos saying Utd were distancing themselves from the deal towards the end of last week.

So strange to me considering the career choices that Eriksen has made that he would even allow his agent to be entertaining this sort of stuff. I know people will correlate it with his near death experience but I don't know I just find it hard to believe you have a near death experience and decide what you need more in life is money especially when his family are sorted for generations already.

This is not Eriksen asking - its agent trying to say no without directly saying. We cant be assuming why somone in Eriksen may want money. For all we know, he might want one big deal so he can set up a huge charity.

Eriksen moved out to Italy mainly because he needed new challenge and be in new place. Thats not possible now, so he will probably reflect what he wants to do & take a call.

Could it not just be that he has told his agent to go and source out the different options available, and get back to him once something starts looking likely and feasible. I mean just like FP lines up a range of potential deals and the pulls the trigger on the most promising one. When he spoke to Danish media he said he would go on holiday and wait for his phone to ring from his agent once there are some concrete suggestions.

Yeah possibly, I’m just looking at it as my control freak anxious self that I wouldn’t want an agent risking ruining a potentially good move because they were trying to find ways to get their pay day. As we know Eriksen is a bit more chill than that.
