I will gladly take Maddison to meet the homegrown quota and have Conte spending whatever it takes on someone he totally prefers for the RWB. Wingbacks epitomise Conte's success. It will be so crucial to have one Conte fully wants. Here's the thing. He is not Conte's choice, what he is, is acceptable.
There are others that Conte prefers but understands there has to be a compromise somewhere due to competition regulations. Spence makes the most sense as far as price is concerned and Levy thinks Spence is the best way around the situation financially but there comes a point when it isn't and we are close to that already.
As I say not Conte's pick, but it's something he believes he can work with as long as he gets his other positions filled to his standards and requirements.
We have been exploring other ways around it which is why Madison and JWP have been linked. Neither of these are Conte picks either, but a compromise has to be made somewhere, which as I say, AC fully accepts.
Again it's value v circumstance Conte wants other positions filled and the budget is finite. Paying an extra x amount on a hg WB will affect what else we can do, and Conte wants them all filled.
There has to be compromise made somewhere along the line and as things stand RWB is that compromise.
Fantastic player. Really underrated.I wonder if Dwight McNeil could be an option. Would need to be moulded into a wing back but rumoured to be available for less than Spence and has a lot of Premier League experience. If not, maybe Alex Scott has played a lot of football at RWB for Bristol City, is a Spurs fan and looks like a great prospect.
I have said already but I hope we get this done so we can fill the other positions with exactly who we want. I’d take Maddison but personally don’t like the idea of JWP at all.
Of course, we’d all ‘gladly take that’. You’ve picked the most expensive homegrown AM and then suggested an unlimited budget on a RWB. Unfortunately, there’s a budget. That’s been pretty well explained.I will gladly take Maddison to meet the homegrown quota and have Conte spending whatever it takes on someone he totally prefers for the RWB. Very true. We can’t really be annoyed tbf the window is shaping up brilliantly. Only thing would be the rwb is a key position in contes system so the sooner the betterChill ??
We have almost brought in 5 new players this window and although I agree a new RWB is a must, it isn't the end of the world that we haven't brought one in yet.
I guess we've been spoilt with the early activity and people now think we can achieve everything in the first few weeks of the window.
It would have been great to have a RWB wrapped up for Korea, but it isn't the end of the world.
We are in good hands, we will sign another CB in addition to Lenglet and we will sign a RWB. We will almost certainly bring a creative CM in as well so relax.
Most teams in the Prem will be envious of the business we have done already this window ??
Yeah, I imagine that comes down to the fact he was unhappy in that role at his former club. Where he goes, he starts. If Conte does have a preferred choice I do wonder why not get Lingard on a free and use the extra for rwb. If we're making a compromise then a squad option for attacking midfield may be the better path. If that means a top quality right wing back who is a clear choice.
Sorry but again that's not how it works. What you are proposing is a huge fee on AM because of the HG proven experience, and then spending more on the RWB to get the best option. I'm sure you'd then want us to pay whatever it takes to get the further CB Conte wants as well.I will gladly take Maddison to meet the homegrown quota and have Conte spending whatever it takes on someone he totally prefers for the RWB. (Who is JWP?)Wont go for JWP now.
Surprised we havent gone for Madueke as competition for Kulusevski and plays as 10 and Hoemgrown but hey ho
(Who is JWP?)
I might be wrong, but I don't think Madueke would count as HG.Wont go for JWP now.

No idea tbh and not sure who would pay him that anyway. Just wonder if that could be an option.Doesn't Lingard want something like £200k p/w? Would be a waste of money IMO as he would be on the bench most of the time.
Have to disagree with the bit in bold. Of all the managers who play wing backs, Conte uses them in the most functional way. In fact if you look back at his teams the wing backs have usually been the least celebrated members...Young, Darmian, D'Ambrisio, Biraghi, Moses, Alonso, Lichtsteiner, De Ceglie, Asamoah. Only Hakimi and Perisic at a push have been stand-out players. The rest just do a job. The real difference makers are in his front 3. It's not a huge surprise we haven't blown a big part of our budget on this position.I will gladly take Maddison to meet the homegrown quota and have Conte spending whatever it takes on someone he totally prefers for the RWB.
