My point is I don't think we were in control for large parts. There were multiple scrambles in the box.I didn't say anything about complaining.
Just because you want us to control games more and have more of the ball doesn't mean we should do it.
We are controlling games, we don't concede space, that's how we're doing it. How many shots on target did Forest have today for all their possession?
How many shots did Forest have on target? Was it one? Not many. They are newly promoted and that's the area these teams always struggle with. Putting the ball in the net. If they had our front line, maybe that's not fair, a better front line they probably would have done better in that regard.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy looking at the result, and at the table. But I'm concerned at how little good possession we have going forward from here. Didn't realise I'd be the big bad wolf in saying that.
Maybe it's Contes way, but I don't remember his Chelsea team in games like today playing in that way. In fact not having possession in a lot of ways hinders his system. This system is all about wingbacks advancing, the right and left CB advancing into midfield to create overloads so our attackers get more space. If we can't keep the ball they can't do that and we rely on our world class frontline to create something off the cuff which they are capable of to be fair but is less likely to bring long term success.
Conte himself was getting rattled with our use of the ball so Im not sure why so many disagree.
Anyway a win is a win.
