You’re brilliant but shit at free kicks. You’re brilliant but shit at free kicks.? - That would be a brilliant new song for Kane...
Davies played a major part in the (vital) opening goal. He burst into the box, allowing Perisic to pick his cross. There’s Davies demonstrating the whole Davies v Lenglet thing right there, the Frenchmen would never have given the ball away so carelessly, but nor would he have made that block
Still can’t get my head around the 2 defensive subs when we desperately required a goal. Coupled with the fact that we actually scored twice after they came on…. Neo and Matrix certainly comes to mind!wtf is this sub change? Conte must see football like Neo see's the Matrix because I'm obviously not at the required level to understand that
I think most of the issues that cause these lethargic starts is all a mental thing. Something we've struggled with for a long time.
I love our fans but I don't recall watching many other teams at home, even when they're playing poorly get so many moans and groans from the home supporters.
Don't get me wrong I understand it to an extent, but we seem really bad for it, every misplaced pass, over hit through ball, poor touch, wrong decision made gets huge groans and grunts, I know the players have to step up equally and get the crowd going but it can't help being on that pitch in an already high pressure game then having to triple guess what you do because you know the moans and groans will follow a bad pass. It's just breeding negativity everywhere and causing more problems on the pitch.
Even a few boo's a half time, I get it, we weren't great, but we didn't go into half time 1 or 2-0 down, it was still 0-0, the boo's were so unnecessary.

We all saw it. Weird you didn’t!!!!!Still can’t get my head around the 2 defensive subs when we desperately required a goal. Coupled with the fact that we actually scored twice after they came on…. Neo and Matrix certainly comes to mind!
There were moments in the first half where I did not think we could complete 1 pass in 4 consecutive possessions. We were quite ponderous and seemed incapable of making 4 consecutive passes.
Agree - For a professional goalkeeper under absolutely no pressure it was ridiculous not to catch the ballTo be fair - I wanted to punch Lloris when he made that play... it was such an uncomposed moment.
Davies for Lenglet actually worked perfectly. Ben does make quite a few runs into the box from his LCB role and that helped lead to the opener. Lenglet doesn’t (yet) do that.Still can’t get my head around the 2 defensive subs when we desperately required a goal. Coupled with the fact that we actually scored twice after they came on…. Passive is how we play. I am fed up with it to be honest. We won but a typically poor watch. The atmosphere was actually great first half but they just bashed us into submission. When the team are playing like that it’s impossible and human nature just to stop when the players just aren’t giving anything back. I’m usually the first to moan about our atmosphere around me in the stadium but tonight the crowd couldn’t be blamed. 55 quid and the team perform like that in the first half. It’s very hard when you’re getting behind them and they’re giving nothing back. It’s just not good enough in a champions league game to perform like that at home. We were too passive and let them off. A complete wrong approach to the game.
Hope they never log onto SC for a confidence boost thenWhen Lloris punched that ball I thought the entire stadium was going to burst into flames. When players are nervy, and the fans react to a shaky moment, it just becomes a negative feedback loop. It would be great if the fans projected to the players the sort of composure and resilience that they'd like to see on the pitch.
Well, we got there eventually. The
You're right.I dont think its lethargy. I think that is actually how we are set up to play. I was at the game tonight on way back first time in a while, and that was a tough watch. Im not talking about entertainment im talking about the performance, we werent playing at all well until they got their sending off. It was all very predictable, get the ball - through the line to Kane/Richarlison/Son then quick one touch lay offs. It was such a frustrating match but such a relief to get the goal and the second - good start to the CL in terms of result but we will be facing tougher games (given we will most likely play against 11 for starters)
Marseille fans are ****s by the way but think we knew that anyways.
I will take the pressure of all the other players who have been really shit really.Seriously though, what the fuck was Hugo thinking trying to punch that?
