Perhaps Levy is thinking: I have a Director of Football who is about to be banned from football (if not jailed) and a Manager who is hinting that he wants to return to Italy for family reasons, so maybe I should spend on loans now and conserve my resources for the summer when I may very well have a new Manager and new Director of Football. We have plenty to spend but would rather a “deal”. Levy would rather spend £50m on two deals than £45m on the one player we need.
We have heard this many, many, many, many times though.Going on what WLB has said, whilst it is naturally annoying that it seems the Zaniolo deal is proving difficult, I do think a lot of people are ignoring or skipping over "with the clauses Roma are trying to insert into the deal with 18 months to run".
Whilst we could just 'pay the price' or whatever, if Roma are changing the deal or keep adding things on that are unreasonable, then it's not all our fault. With the uncertainty over Conte's future + Zaniolo being a fair bit of a risk in general and not yet setting the world alight, if Roma re making the deal more and more difficult then it's not the worst thing in the world if we're backing away or pursuing other deals.

Stay off forums Daniel, conentrate on backing the manager or your resignation letter please?Going on what WLB has said, whilst it is naturally annoying that it seems the Zaniolo deal is proving difficult, I do think a lot of people are ignoring or skipping over "with the clauses Roma are trying to insert into the deal with 18 months to run".

Then he should be a leader and make a decision to get rid now (or actually weeks ago if Herc is correct). Not let this linger until the summer.Perhaps Levy is thinking: I have a Director of Football who is about to be banned from football (if not jailed) and a Manager who is hinting that he wants to return to Italy for family reasons, so maybe I should spend on loans now and conserve my resources for the summer when I may very well have a new Manager and new Director of Football.
Sometimes you have to just accept that you need to stump up and back the manager though. We can’t always hide behind it being someone else’s fault which is our go toGoing on what WLB has said, whilst it is naturally annoying that it seems the Zaniolo deal is proving difficult, I do think a lot of people are ignoring or skipping over "with the clauses Roma are trying to insert into the deal with 18 months to run".

Or it always is?It never is.
It's not just that though is it. Lets say they are shifting the goalposts...... This is a player Conte has wanted since early last Summer, why are we discovering new problems in the last week of January?Sometimes you have to just accept that you need to stump up and back the manager though. I agree with this so much. It's not just that though is it. Lets say they are shifting the goalposts...... This is a player Conte has wanted since early last Summer, why are we discovering new problems in the last week of January?
And Conte knows that...so focus on the key areas surely? We have plenty to spend but would rather a “deal”. Levy would rather spend £50m on two deals than £45m on the one player we need.
or just very good conservative no risk management ?Precisely.
Hesitant, Indecisive and Second best.
And THAT is the Culture the Club shows way too often both on & off the pitch.
If Levy wants a "no risk management" job, then he's in the wrong f*ING job. Indeed, in the wrong f*ING business /industry.or just very good conservative no risk management ?
But is he bought the club for £Xm and its now worth an estimated £4B I would say he is doing a bloody good job of running the whole business and so certainly in the right industry? If Levy wants a "no risk management" job, then he's in the wrong f*ING job. We all forgot it.What happened to the £150 million cash injection from ENIC last summer?
