So are you all now going to give Mr Levy the credit he deserves for getting this appointment spot on and bringing the feel good factor back to the club? and for getting Maddison for $40m?

why does he deserve particular praise for starting to right his own wrongs of the past 5 years?

And Maddison has said that Ange was one of the biggest pulls in joining the club. And signing a very good player after the mismanagement of the club meant we sold maybe our best ever player isn’t overly special.

It’s going to take more than one seemingly good appointment for Levy to deserve much praise in my opinion.

Fair play - in among the wreckage of the past few years there have been a sprinkling of very good decisions. Some of Paratici's signings look like they could set us up for the next few years, while Ange was an inspired choice of manager when the majority of fans wanted him to take the easy route and bring back Poch.

That said, it's a bit like congratulating someone for tidying up a gigantic mess of their own making. "Well done Daniel (COYS)! You fucking trashed the house last night but you've tried really hard to tidy it up!"

I dont know if this is happening to anyone else but i find myself saying the word "mate" more often than normal. I am also concerned that i might be putting a slight aussie accent to it when i say it. I am not even joking. I almost signed this message off with the word mate.

You could probably put Ange saying ‘mate’ to a sparkly cheesy tune and have a Christmas single number one. Complete with video of him hugging homeless kangaroos.

We Yanks don't use the term "Mate" so for the first few weeks, i thought he was giving relationship advice.

The rebuild appears to be more impressive than expected - and definitely took some balls, as many were bemused at the links to Postecoglu and felt that we should have cut ties with Paratici who made many of these signings, much earlier than we actually did (if not never go near him).

The question becomes whether we go the full way. A stick that's been used to beat Levy with for years if that he's always done juuuuuust enough to get by but without ever really pushing the team to go one step further and really challenge for trophies. If we end the summer window with more quality in attack and CB - then credit where it's due, he'll have done a brilliant job to turn things around. But if he looks at how things are going now and decides that that is enough, it's the same old.

There's surely going to be a period where we go on a rocky run and get battered against a few clinical sides with our expansive style. But I think we'll recover it soon enough and at least now there are points on the board and already a belief that his style can translate to the PL.

To be honest, that would be a welcome change to putting up a decent fight against a top team and then immediately coughing up a dreadful result to a team we should be beating. We've consistently done that for years.

I'll give him credit when he fixes all his fcuk ups from 3 windows of no transfers when in a strong position, appointing Jose, Nuno and Conte, and turning his back on the club playing style.

This is just one step. Ange has caused himself a problem, this is when Levy starts looking at whether we need players, and makes the decision himself. Levy took us forward to being a challenging team and then took us back to being a joke.

I'm loving being so wrong about Ange. The only manager I was excited about was Poch when he was appointed, and I hated the idea of Jose, Nuno and Conte, and that made me not want Ange.

The more I hear Ange talk, the more I see us play, and the more I see players enjoying their football, the more I believe this is a great appointment. We will have a long way to go but it's great to see a manager back their players to play football, and not just bitch about players not being good enough. Imagine the scenes if Jose or Conte had to deal with losing Kane. Ange just got on with it

For the first time in a few years I actually watched the early kick off (4:30AM!) Live, rather than watching it at 3 times the speed on the DVR!
