I was at the game so can I ask the TV viewers, were Liverpool that good? I didn't feel any jeopardy at the ground bar the double save and the goal.

The only pressure I felt was when they went down to 9, and we "had" to win.

Listening to the backlash it makes it sound like Liverpool were neigh on guaranteed winners if not for the reds.

I think you are spot on. I mean they could have scored but we were the better team anyway.

They had a couple of breaks that we delt with and salah put in a cracking through ball that they didn't get on the end of. But bar that, I can't really add any clear cut chances they got that you didn't mention already.

This fuss is never going to end is it? I could pretty much guarantee that if it had happened to any other team there wouldn't be this amount of screaming about it. But no, it's fucking Liverpool and they are most hard done by team in the PL so that's why it won't die down for weeks.

Replay the match? Just why? There is no way of knowing what the final score would have been had they scored then.

It was largely territory that Liverpool were ahead on first half but largely because our possession was mostly from our own half. I felt the chances in first half were even between them and going in level was fair. 2nd half started well for us having 2 great efforts but they looked dangerous on the break. It was a very close game until they went to 9 and then they set up camp. We dominated the final 20 mins but didn't work the keeper enough. On balance I think we edged it because of the sustained attack towards the end. Although Liverpool did themselves proud at 9 men but then again they were a bit dirty.

It reminded me a bit of the Arsenal game. There wasn't really too many times where we looked in real danger despite how advanced their players got. The Diaz one was the only time they seemed to be through on goal. All others we had defenders back and Vicario only had one noteable save (double save). Everything else aside from the goal was well defended. Alison seemed to be worked more. It was a good game though, probably the 2nd red spoiled how end to end it was but that was their doing. Some of our midfield play was top class.

Any club that receives six or more cautions or dismissals in a game are fined by the FA, with such a total including the dugout area.

Consequently, the ECHO understands that Liverpool have indeed been issued with a £25,000 fine, having received eight cards in the capital. With such a financial penalty automatic, there is no charge to answer and there will be no statement from the FA. Tottenham won't be fined as they only received five bookings.

I said at the time - this was the best Liverpool could hope for.

3 points only goes so far - but playing the victim lasts a lifetime.

I get that it was a mistake by the officials but how long are they going to talk about this!? I don't remember the official's errors against us getting that much airtime.
There are even calls for the game to be replayed! If that is the case, we need to keep it fair and Pool should play with 9 players.

Yeah I did think that. So really they weren't dominant, far from it. We more than matched them in midfield as well prior to the red.

My personal opinion , is that they edged the first 25 minutes, 11v11.

But only just. The game had a long way to go and we could easily have got on top had it remained 11v11.

After the sending off we did get on top, then they got the disallowed goal and shortly afterwards we scored a beaut.

Did those decisions, lift us? Yes.

But it's impossible to argue what trajectory the game would of taken had the Diaz goal stood.

We could of raised our game even more....which is often the case when a home team is losing...

Nobody knows.

Extra game ban on top then! Bet they get it turned over to try and sweeten them though
If they overturn it, they've opened the door for every single red card to be appealed and overturned in future (barring obvious headbutts/punches etc)

The problem, certainly for the PGMOL, is that there are some very powerful voices making money off these mistakes. Webb should never have agreed to take part in that TV show the other week. They need to show some real steel now; get the PL bigwigs in and together read the riot act to the various managers / clubs. They've dug themselves into a hole with all these apologies. It's never going to end.

Liverpool are only kicking up a fuss as a warning to officials when decisions don't go their way. Straight out of the Wenger/Jose/SAF playbook this. :ROFLMAO:

They know this was simply down to human error and not corruption.

Sadly there are a LOT of people who put this down as corruption, and not simple human error. When they say the league is biased against Liverpool - they legitimately believe it.

This is how we get Brexit, and Trump. People with an incentive to believe bad information, will not be moved from their position.

I do hope this doesn’t interfere with Brighton V Liverpool this weekend, there is going to be so much scrutiny over the officials, no doubt Klopp will bring it up in his press conference. Hope the ref is strong enough not to let pressure get to him (in terms of giving Liverpool dodgy decisions). Shit game to officiate :)
