I disagree Re Neto, whilst its true he started out as a right winger even going by transfermarket.com hes actually played more on the left (42 games) then the right (34 games) throughout his career and even this season some of his best performances have come from him on the left ether when he's started there or switched mid game. Point is he's a natural on ether wing and I don't see any issue with viewing him as a left winger should we be looking for one.2 things, Neto and Eze do not play lw as their natural position. I doubt we are going down the square peg round hole route.
I'm not sure why people get so obsessed with price. A lot were moaning that VDV and Viccario were the cheap options in the summer.
I agree with you re Eze tho, he's def best as a number 10. He tends to drift central a lot when he starts out wide. He looks an excellent player but shouldn't be viewed as a wide option in this system IMO. As a rotation option for Maddison sure (although i think it might be over kill) but not as a winger. Width from the wing play is vitally important in this system and we need our wingers to stay near the touch line.
I think the interesting question is what Ange does with Johnson. Part of me wonders if he will actually use him primarily on the left rather then the right. I think it was in the pre match presser before Luton Ange was was talking about wide options in general and he said something like "on the left Perisic, Solomon, Johnson, Gil and on the other side we have Kulu". It wasn't exactly that but certainly words to that effect. Point is he listed Johnson along with the left wingers. Yes It's probably not worth reading too much into it at this stage but does raise the question of if we might end up needing a RW instead of a LW.
Ether way as i've posted before, Neto and Williams should be our top wide targets IMO and both can naturally play ether wing.
