I’d be seriously tempted to bring in Atkinson and willey for the next game, Curran seems to have forgotten how to bowl and Woakes shouldn’t be playing.
Our front liners look utterly devoid of ideas and common sense.

I'm really not seeing nay leadership out there? I love Buttler as a player but he's really not getting the guys going. Not sure if they've given up, or are expecting to just roll teams over?

Short boundaries, very quick outfield and a fairly slow flat track is always going to lead to big scores. I'm not remotely worried yet.

What we going for, 195ao?
I know we got off to a slow start at the last WC but I don’t see us getting out of the group stages at the moment

Buttler and Brook just need to get themselves in. If they do that score will quickly disappear. Buttler is a terrible captain btw

Fuck me what a horrendous shot from Buttler.

That's just a dereliction of duty. You'd lose your place in the Sunday 2nd XI for that.

this serves England and the ECB right for treating 50 over cricket like a second class citizen so they could prioritise their vanity project, the Hundred.

one-day cricket held the nations attention after 2019, and they've totally stuffed that.

barely played any, degraded the traditional 50 over domestic comp to a glorified reserve team cup, and rotated a million players, pretty much none of who got picked for this tournament.

shameful.

I don’t know what’s worse, having to endure this or whether to put the build up on for the rugby….😠🥲

Right that's enough of watching an old and tired England side struggling against a Tier 2 nation at the World Cup in one of their national sports, cricket.

I'm turning over to watch an old and tired England side struggle against a Tier 2 nation at the World Cup in another of their national sports, Rugby Union.

See you all there.

This feels like the end of a cycle, but compounded with far too many players not performing or when they do, not consistently. It's a shame because absolutely the quality is there but that's how the cookie crumbles, it's not easy getting the timing of some things right :(

I'm not convinced by the leadership group of Mott and Buttler... Compare that to the front foot approach of Stokes and McCullum, they're a world away and look so average.

This England side massively miss the elite leadership Morgan had. He knew exactly when and how to rotate bowlers and also how to set fields according to how an innings is going. Buttler hasn’t got a clue.
