Absolute rubbish. How many games have you watched this season? He’s been rock solid.
I think too many people want perfection when that’s unattainable. He got underneath the cross that led to the goal a bit, but I think that was more down to the quality of the cross than Porro making a mistake. It was a great cross, and a very good finish (handball aside.)

I don’t see Porro as a weak link whatsoever, in fact he’s one of our biggest strengths.

Never mind wanting perfection, they seem to think it actually exists. I’m sick to death of hearing how this player or that player isn’t good enough and “must be replaced” in the next window. Knee jerk doesn’t even come close.

Calm down. This is a forum of different opinions. Maybe take a break for a bit and don’t be so sensitive to what is mild criticism and the truth.

Or when he was slow to close down an attacker who could have scored? You may not notice these things.
I think this was actually a positive from Porro - he was left marking two players by himself, and had to rush out to the Palace player at the back post, and did so with his arms behind his back to prevent the risk of a penalty.

I do agree he overcommitted for the Ayew goal, but was more a lapse in judgement than lack of ability.

Yes. Sadly it’s almost impossible to say the truth on here without some people losing their minds. 😂
Truth? But your post is nonsense. You say he still looks suspect? That suggests he’s been poor over a number of games, which just isn’t true.

It’s always a really nebulous kind of criticism too “not suited to the system” or “not good enough for our level.” There’s never any detailed criticism about what these players are actually doing wrong.

Beautifully put! The best player to use as an example is Kulusevski, who seems to be one of our marmite players at the moment.
"Has a tendency to cut inside too frequently" = valid criticism based on aspects of his actual play.
"Not good enough for our level" = nebulous criticism based on SFA.

I like Porro, who is comfortable and progressive with the ball, but I do get a little nervous when he’s defending a 1 v 1 situation.

The only criticism of porro, is that occasionally he fails to pick up his man at the far post.

However, he has massively improved on this.

I think he’s been terrific so far this season and has been improving defensively a lot recently. However I think we may find that some teams will target us with a long diagonal ball over the top on Porro’s side. Something for Millsy to work on with them this week hopefully.

It wasn't just mis-judging the cross though, there were a few times where defensively he was done against Palace. It's not unfair to point that out.

He gets out of position at times but has a bit of speed and most importantly desire to make up for it. Walker was the same albeit with more pace to help. He really saved us conceding an equaliser on Friday with his closing down.

Like in the 52nd minute (it was included in the MotD highlights), where he didn't do nearly well enough against Schlupp on the edge of the box.

I'm baffled by the disagrees I got for saying he's been wonderful this season but also pointing out he had a couple of lapses against Palace. And none of those who disagreed have actually used words to explain their ratings.

Because they’re idiots who never played football and don’t really understand what they’re watching.
