Just have to ask yourself, would you rather Werner or Gil from the bench when needing a goal?
Different players that play in different positions so not really a fair question. You should ask would you rather have Veliz, Dane or Werner on the bench.

pros:
-6mth loan. We have been stung with big money buys recently and have found it hard to shift dross. So try before you buy is a great shout.
- he knows london and the league well.
- his career stats average almost 300 odd goals or assists in 450 odd games. That is better than all of our players bar son. Hell even at chelsea he was a 1/3 striker.
- has pace and is able to press which is great for anges system, and lets not forget klopp was desperate for him before he joined the chavs
- he can play all across the front three which fits the profile of what we want.

cons:
- lets be honest he missed some sitters for chelsea and looked generally a bit like a donkey in their set up. So did he find the league hard or was it chelseas play that hindered him? Hard to tell.
- he hasnt lit up leipzig since returning to germany.

I think given the positives he is worth the gamble that is very little. Would i actively pick him to come here… no, but i get why we are doing it. My only gripe is i hope he doesn't mean that we will miss out on a player who is better suited for us, (eg gimenez, nusa, bakayoko) but i can only presume they aren't available to come now so this is the best we can get until the summer.
I don’t know how you get to a 1 in 3 striker for chelsea when he scored 10 in 56 in the league and 23 in 89 in all competitions.

Divisive signing but one i think makes sense when you break down the pros and cons:

Chelsea play certainly didnt help him. He didnt have support around him. Lampard played slow possession football while Tuchel was more tactical.

Marco Rose plays direct vertical football in a diamond 4-4-2 in Leipzig

IMO, last time Werner played high press football was under Nagelsmann in 2019/20 - when he scored plenty (28 goals), created so much for his team

So, in that sense, move to work under Ange is perfect

You were pretty on the money with Johnson over the summer and I've been impressed with him. So I reckon you could be 2 for 2

If Werner was in the squad yesterday he definitely would have come on when Gil did. We were crying out for speed on both wings and would have brought Kulu central.

regardless, Veliz is crocked for 2 months and I would much rather have Werner on then him or Scarlett.

Maths was never my strong point. But if you look at his goals and assists at chelsea he was 44 in 89. Johnson is 5 in 18. So marked improvement with werner.

Incredible to see so many people in here change their mind on Werner when he is about to be a Spurs player, Remember the times he got mocked in here for all the wasted chances in Chelsea, how he was ridiculed and "would not hit a barn door" etc?

Now i see some people in here questioning his ability and they get spamed with dissagrees and dislikes :D, can't make this shit up :D

Will support anyone wearing the shirt, and with so many gone and injured i can understand it to a degree, but still underwhelming in my opinion

Fair, still the same answer imo. Gil plays in the front 3 and guaranteed Werner will ply before him.
