Yeah I think willian will be ours in the next 24 hours or so.

Lamela will be the key in terms of Bale going I'd imagine.
I'm along these lines too.

Still seems utterly surreal we're bidding on £30+m players, but anyway..

I take it you all know skybet has suspended betting on Willian? Bale's odds have shifted dramatically to 1/7 to move.

More importantly our very own Houdini closed the bale betting on SCs sports book today!

Personally I think that Bale has definitely elevated us to a new level - even though he's probably leaving. Yes we've been progressing very well in recent years but his performances have brought us so much attention.

No doubt more people are aware of us as an up and coming force. Add are impressive facilities and plans for the future into the mix, AVB who seems to be a very big draw for players and smooth Baldini overseeing our sales pitch to new recruits....and you can see why we are looking so attractive.

I'm going to throw these numbers out there after PM'ing them to Berglad.

Our average expenditure during the transfer window under ENIC had been 17m net up until 2009. For the last 4 years, our net expenditure has been -12.2 aggregate. One of those years, we spent exactly 17m net. One was -29m and two were -1m.

So there is 51m from previous windows (3 of the last 4) that would have normally been spent (the magic 50m from Lewis?). Plus this years 17m.

That would make a total of 68m that we would normally spend that hadn't been touched until this year.

Right now we've net spent 38m. 30m for Willian makes it 68m.

Probably coincidence. But interesting.

And that doesn't take into account the net money we took in from sales that has usually been spent on transfers as well.

I am sorry, I hate to burst anyones bubble vis a vis Willian. But he was photographed at Heathrow.

if he was coming to see us it would have been Luton.

Luton?

Can you get a flight from Russia to Luton?

Does make it seem like those bids for Aguero and the like in the past were really genuine, just the difference now is that we have more pull and attract better quality. This is due to various factors, Bales performances (gained us more worldwide recognition) our steady progress from HR to AVB, Baldini's reputation and a chairman that has always had our best interests in mind even if some think otherwise when it suits them

Just an idea, but can you not block unregistered visitors from viewing the pages? I'm sure it's been done before. Just let those with accounts log in, that way it should allow the site to run smoother.

According to swiss ramble we invested £42m in the new training ground and stadium last year alone.

That would be overwhelmingly underwhelming (that works doesn't it?)

I get you but just thinking out loud that's all.

To be honest, it still seems positive on the Halilovic bros. so most likely putting 2 & 2 together and coming up with 93million.

And if he was going to Liverpool, he would enter via the gates of Hell. :)

C'mon mate, first game and he'd come on about 2 minutes previous. Every striker has missed a few sitters in their time. He looked dynamite in my opinion when he came on. held the ball really well when he needed to, ran with it when he should've and generally played with maturity. He scuffed the ball slightly wide and he should've scored, but he created that chance for himself out of nothing (more than Soldado could manage) and I was really impressed with him playing the way he did from the bench. he offers something different.

But that is likely to be his role, to come on and take a late chance. He has to get it on target at least. You can't expect 10 mins to get into the game as an impact sub.

I find the figures people throw around about transfer dealings all very illuminating, and thanks for the hard work guys. But remember 2 important words CASH FLOW. We never paid the full whack for Soldado, and we haven't yet received all the monies for Modric. I expect there are other dealings like this. Maybe Willians will be by installments. Bales certainly will be. Hopefullly under written by a solvent Spanish bank. So its more complicated than adding and subtracting each windows activity. Finally, that is why Levy has doubts about RM. Bale maybe isn't worth, say £100M NOW, but to Spurs he is worth more than £25M per year for 4 years.
