good news if so. Tell Mardrid if we can't get him as a replacement this window, then you can't have Bale this window, Good Day Sir!

Exactly my stance on the issue.

We CANNOT sell Bale if Lamela is a no go.

The nice thing is it's clear Roma are willing to deal at a price, like we are. We might have to go as high as 40 ME but so be it.

Plus Bale/Spurs are all over FIFA14, Lucozade and NBC. This is part of the reason why Bale is so valuable - it's not just the football skills and probably a big reason as to why we're splashing the cash now. The storm has created a window.

I give the Bale Lucozade poster a hat tip when i walk through the underground tunnel bit to work.

'Morning Gareth, still here i see'.

he never responds verbally, but he eyes tell me everything.

Connected to this is the ease with with we have secured some major talents even without CL football. What were they told that made them sign so readily? We already know a couple were told we want to keep Bale and I suspect they were also told of the magnitude of the investment we would be making this window. The ease with which we have made these signings compared to previous years suggests that whatever blueprint we set out was a very appealing one indeed and I feel no shame in reading a lot of positivity into that and believing we are embarking on a project that may have seemed ridiculous in even the recent past. The negative amongst us have good reason (once bitten etc) but fail to see that it is not out of the question that we are going to do something unprecedented.

Bale stays.

I don't think that Lamela is worth £40m, but then again Bale is not worth £100m so we have to take the rough with the smooth. At £40m it's a go go go go go for me!!

I think the only reason I like football is because of transfers. I want Bale to go now so we can get two new players in, regardless of him being one of the biggest prospects in the world right now. I'll be bored by February.

FFWD to March next year....Levy has already agreed a deal for Bongo Christ to join in July? Next season is going to be EPIC.

And I'm back in.

I just can't believe we would pay £30m for Willian if we weren't expecting the Bale money. The transfer has happened too quickly and is too Chelsea/Man City style for me to conclude otherwise.

I really hope we can pull off the Lemala deal as he seems the only player who can come even close to replacing Bale.

That's the crazy thing about the Soldado deal. It was like "we need him so we'll pay whatever it takes". Optimistic we can do the same again for Willian AND Lamela. Just one more would be alright.

Lamela would be the one if Bale is off. Lamela is the Bale replacement, Willian would be in addition to either one.

Yes but there really are alternatives out there when it comes to that much money. The club then needs to weigh up one player against another surely? Maybe Turan is considered a better option for example at a lower price? Obviously not my dosh, but 40m v say 24m?

I'm going to throw these numbers out there after PM'ing them to Berglad.

Our average expenditure during the transfer window under ENIC had been 17m net up until 2009. For the last 4 years, our net expenditure has been -12.2 aggregate. One of those years, we spent exactly 17m net. One was -29m and two were -1m.

So there is 51m from previous windows (3 of the last 4) that would have normally been spent (the magic 50m from Lewis?). Plus this years 17m.

That would make a total of 68m that we would normally spend that hadn't been touched until this year.

Right now we've net spent 38m. 30m for Willian makes it 68m.

Probably coincidence. But interesting.

And that doesn't take into account the net money we took in from sales that has usually been spent on transfers as well.

We spent most of our cash on the new training ground as it wasn't funded through significant borrowing.

There's one at the top of my road that I pass on my wlak to the train station. I can barely bring myself to look at him.

Can't see the Willian cost being £30m at all. Don't think we would pay it and Anzhi openly stated all of their players we're for sale. I think it will be less than we paid for Soldardo, although i doubt we will ever know

Masamah - I so, so truly want that to be the case.

I live in hope we sign all the players mentioned And keep Bale.

I'm deluding myself, I know. But then I also think I'm going to win the lottery every time I by a ticket lol :)

Yeah I heard that about Rob too, weird one isn't it. Who'd have thought he's the sort of person who hangs himself upside down naked from the chandeliers with a golden dildo hanging out of his a..... oh shit, we're back up & running aren't we.
One of the funniest things I have ever read. It didn't get enough positive ratings.

Anyway back to whatever we were discussing.
