Jut phoned my mate (French lad who supports PSG) and he loves him. Said before the cabaye transfer Stambouli was the man he wanted

Said he's got decent technique, good passer, very mobile but the main plus is he's all character. By all accounts he's known for his winning mentality, constant pressing & a focus point to drive his team forward.

An exact quote from my oversees comrade 'if he had a head on with a car, the car would move'

With Sandro's departure (gutted about that but gotta have faith in mopo) Benji seems a player that could fit in straight away and sort out our soft centre. Hopefully his positivity and self belief will rub off on the rest

Hopefully JRod to follow

Had a friend also say he was an engine, pressed all the time and was a great tackler. Looking forward to seeing him!!!!

Is he better than the guy we've just sold. Holtby?
Looks like he can make a tackle without fouling the other player.

Holtby is better going forward and Stambouli is better defensively. Slightly different in the roles they would be required to perform, but both are high energy players.

By the looks of it Stambouli will have more direction about his play than Holtby. Holtby may be good going forward but he never really had positional discipline. I hope Stambouli hits the ground running, I don't think we can afford to have a player have a bedding in season like a lot of our recent signings. He's going to be criticised too as a result of being Sandro's replacement.

As much as I am gutted about Sandro, the reports Im reading on Stambouli are very positive. I like what I am hearing. I also place a large amount of faith in Ian Broomfield given his track record for us, and like the Broomfield/Baldini combination. This surely has to be a Broomfield special with Poch signing off on it.

There's a good chance we've pulled one out of the bag here. Like that he speaks English, is rarely injured ( no doubt we will change that ! ), is renowned for his intensity, drive and determination. Hope he can adjust to the pace of the PL quickly and get his passing going, release the ball quick enough. Loved his interview and its nice that he has a proper memory of us through Waddle/Marseille.

You only have to look at the likes of Cabaye, Schneiderlin etc to know that if you scout cleverly in the French league, you can pull out real gems for minimal outlay

that's Poch's philosophy....male crumpet to get the ladies supporting Spurs
montpellier just finished 15th.

after selling everyone...they won the Ligue 1 title with him playing a major role BTW. The club won the title for the first time in 2012.
