Who the hell is talking about ripping up the sqaud?? You're just going down the straw man argument route here.

You talk about learning from this season, yet since last summer we've let go of:

Townsend - highly rated academy player
Hotlby - highly rated and energetic midfielder
Stambouli - effective DM back-up who has gone on to make 34 appearances for PSG this season

That's not including the other 8 or 9 players that were in and around the first team squad that left us.

So i'm not talking about a 12+ player exodus like this season (although it seemed to do us a world of good), but rather moving out a couple of promising players (much like those 3 above) and bringing in 3 better ones to replace them.

In fact we're effectively running a 21 man squad at the moment of:

Lloris, Vorm, Walker, Rose, Davies, Trippier, Verts, Toby, Wimmer, Dier, Bentaleb, Mason, Dembele, Carroll, Erikssen, Alli, Chadli, Clinton, Son, Lamela, Kane.

So if we moved Carroll on then we have space for 2 players to come in within a 22 man squad. I think we also need a 3rd player and i would personally look to move on Chadli, but the other option is to play a 23 man squad with only one player leaving and 3 coming in.

So all in all in no way is that "ripping up the squad". It's actually leaving the vast majority of the squad alone, moving on one player who for me doesn't cut it at the level we need him to and then bringing in 2-3 new players to help us with the tought challeneges we will face next season.
Maybe I misunderstood, but I took you to be arguing to move on Carroll, Mason and Bentaleb in midfield alone.

TRANSFER RUMOUR:

Spurs scouts have been watching 16yr old Real Madrid academy striker Pedro Ruiz and are set to make an offer to the youngster in the coming days.

Head of recruitment Paul Mitchell appointed a scout last summer based in Spain and Portugal and it is believed this scout identified this player right away as one to watch.

Ruiz signed for Real Madrid academy from Real Betis where he joined as an 8yr old.

According to reports the youngster is not the only Real Madrid player Spurs are currently interested in and a bid for midfielder Toni Kroos is to be lodged in the summer.

The German midfielder is out of favour under Zidane and has been told he can leave this summer while Spurs are looking to recruit a few experienced Champions League players to aid the young squad.

(Bild & Marca)

There's nothing on Marca about this.

I did find though about the kid. He's 16yr old #9 of 1.90m

I rather we go for Dybala than this Mitsubishi chappie
Lol. Slight difference mate. One player is Juventus's (you know..the biggest club in Italy and CL finalists last season) main man and their future, the other is playing for Marseille, who are 16th in Ligue 1.

Dybala is at Juventus - who have no reason to sell, and they bought him last summer for around £25m. His value has risen sharply after a stellar season. Realistically only a Barca or Real will be able to get him out of Juve now.

I don't think Bentaleb will be sold personally unless there is something very very wrong with his attitude.

Was one of our best players 2 seasons ago, is young, talented and someone who Pochettino began moulding and improving, only for it to be disrupted by consistent injury this season

A good pre-season could see him back challenging Dier and Dembele (which can only help them too).

@doctor stefan Freud and @thinktank
I wasn't trying to be informative, that's me being absolutely shocked that relegation battling Swansea have players on £100k a week.
@alexis has clarified it for me, but still a bit confused as to who that player is because I think their best player is Williams who I wouldn't mind as a backup but not on those wages.
It's Ayew I was talking about, he's reportedly on massive wages having been in demand as a Bosman last summer.

Could be shit translation, but it looks like Lille's manager has said Boufal doesn't have any ligament damage.

Sunday Mirror saying we are making a £23m bid for Lacazette, the Sunday Telegraph say West Ham are. Make of that what you will.
