People are wanking over city because they are destroying those poor teams whereas we are one half good n one half bad team...

And still we find ourselves in 2nd place and haven't conceded a goal from open play...fancy that

Our best start in 51 years according to the Beeb, without fully clicking into gear performance wise and 2nd in the table.

Can't really complain too much about that.

We're still a young and fairly inexperienced team. I am sure Poch will demand a more ruthless approach - we should have been 4 or 5 up at HT and ended up hanging on a bit. But ... we were without Dier, Kane, Rose, Dembele and Lamela, who would all arguably be in our strongest XI, and that shows how strong we are. The glass is definitely half full for me.

Despite not putting a complete performance together over 90 mins we are second in the league which is higher than we finished last season.

Anyone who is feeling half empty about our start so far this season must have started supporting Spurs around about October last year.... Or has a very very short memory.

My glass is at 50% capacity. We've started better than I expected us to and I'm happy with that, but if push came to shove I still wouldn't put my money on us finishing in the top 4 this season at this stage. Let's see how we go.

Or has noticed that we could be doing better still. Made harder than needed work of a couple wins, drawn to Liverpool when we should have won & lost to Monaco when we ought also to have won

Just because we're doing better than before doesn't mean we're doing as well as we could.

Anybody with a 'glass half empty' attitude when we are sitting second in the league after 6 matches and when we remain unbeaten needs a slap round the bake as they say in our part of the world.

I take it that was your view when when were 3rd after 6 games in AVBs disastrous second season? As with then there is little sense in simply looking at results and ignoring the faults and warning signs with the side. The team has seen good results so far but hasn't matched that with performances. Supporters should and m have every right to be concerned by that.

more than half full for me. Played great football last few premier league games, 2nd, top draw squad. the only downsides are the whining fans.

Yes there is room for improvement... There is always room for improvement. But glass half empty suggests that we should be negative about our start of the season, and to repeat what I said.... Any Spurs fan feeling negative about our season so far has a very short memory, or very little experience of supporting Spurs at all.

Yes it was, and like most of us I thought our shortcomings were something that we were going to overcome, which as we all know wasn't the case.

Our performances last season, along with the level we have played at on occasion this season gives us every reason to be positive rather than negative. I believe that like last season come October we will kick on and go up a few gears.

Only a Spurs fan would see a half emtpy glass when we're sitting 2nd in the league, unbeaten, and have only really got into 2nd gear so far. Sheesh...

Solid start. The teams we really should beat we have done fairly comfortably, even if the scorelines don't suggest it, and a continuation of that and efficiently hoovering up those points will leave us right up there.

However I think most would agree there is room for improvement and we aren't firing on all cylinders yet. The two half decent teams we've played in the Scouse clubs (and could make that three with Monaco CL match...) we've rode our luck a bit and in some facets of the play been second best. Will need to sharpen up our act in these sort of games to determine just how in the mix we are come the end of the season. City next weekend the first opportunity...

I'm kind of thinking that at the moment we look abit like some of the mid-era Ferige United teams, where at the beginning of the season they sometimes looked they were only playing at 60%, 70% pace, but still hoovered up points. Then around Xmas and the new year they would ramp it up.

As a comparison to Liverpool who are playing like demons every week and will be dead on their feet come February, I think Poch has tweaked the game-plan a bit and wants us to keep some petrol in the tank for the crunch.

Makes that lunch Poch had with Fergie at the end of last season even more interesting...

I'm very confident we'll keep our top 4 spot. Too early to say whether we'll be in a title fight. We could end some way off City who are overwhelming favorites for the title but no one else really worries me.

We will have to wait to see with that, I hope so...

I would say that I think we're lacking energy and a bit of intensity so far this season, whether that's by design or not to hold something back as I said we'll see as the season develops.
