So far, so good, but I'm not going to kid myself or anyone else that everything's perfect. I can't help thinking that if this team really gets it together, it'll need a seriously good team to beat us.

I take it that was your view when when were 3rd after 6 games in AVBs disastrous second season? As with then there is little sense in simply looking at results and ignoring the faults and warning signs with the side. The team has seen good results so far but hasn't matched that with performances. Supporters should and m have every right to be concerned by that.
I think that the only difference is that there were always misgivings about AVB from a lot of fans from the word go whereas even though the performances haven't perhaps matched the results this season, there is definitely a belief in Poch from the vast majority of fans so there is far more reason to be optimistic.

Anybody with a 'glass half empty' attitude when we are sitting second in the league after 6 matches and when we remain unbeaten needs a slap round the bake as they say in our part of the world.
Wish I could double agree with this post.

We won, how many times have you seen us dominate the game in the last 10 years and come away with a point or even a loss. Gotta be happy, 3 points, 2nd in the league and about to make it 1 point off top after next weekend :cool::p:D

Hmmm, let's see...

Our best ever PL start. Second in the table. Unbeaten. Three goals conceded. Terrific depth in a squad that's stronger than last season's. Able to win away at Middlesboro without FOUR of our mainstays from last season. A fantastic manager who the players love. Players falling over themselves to extend their contracts. Winks, CCV, Onomah and Nkoudou all likely to play bigger roles as the season progresses. Marcus Edwards.

Have I left out anything here? And other than the Kane situation, could our glass possibly be any LESS half-empty?

Oh, can't believe I forgot this one. Remember how we were supposed to start the season slowly because of a hangover from the Euros..?!

Yeah but Harry Kane's really exhausted and that caused his ankle injury... :hungover:

How anyone can be glass half empty blows my mind. We are second and unbeaten.

We're second in the league bitches!

(and can still get even better once Kane, Dembele are fit and get their form back).

And we are yet to beat a good side in this season. Lost against monaco and drew against everton n pool... consider that

What are we considering? What point are you making that we haven't been tested yet? Surely the fact that we are currently in 2nd place counts for something where the majority of our rivals haven't found the consistency we have.

Does the fact that we are without Dembele for most of our matches mesn anything to you? We haven't looked good but yet we are churning out favourable results or doesn't it count? Yet City are crusing in first place yet they have played mostly weaker opponents...or don't they count?

Our main issue last season was lack of squad depth. I think the fact we've had our best start to a season since the 60's without Dembele, who is so crucial to how we play, is very impressive, and bodes well for the season.

They beat utd... won their cl match... we drew against two team that are more or less comparable to us and lost against a cl caliber team... we won 4 games in the league and 3 of them arep relegation fodder... i would have counted us commensurate with city if we would have won against liverpool or everton or monaco... we did not... so there's a lot of work yet to be done and we are not as the same page with city...

The fact that we are a one half good/one bad half team yet we are 2nd must count for something then? It's a bit silly playing us down and praising City when City have played 5 out of the bottom 7 teams as well, if you're going to count the matches we played against relegation fodder then why are you outright dismissing City's matches against them?

No one is saying that we are on the same page, it's just that we aren't getting deserved praise and people like yourself are uncessarily playing Spurs' start to the season down too easily, for whatever reason I don't know.

Because they have won matches not only against relegation fodders(sunderland, stoke etc) but also against good teams like(utd, monchengladbach, swansea) and while we won against relegation fodders like sunderland , stoke we drew or lost against good teams like pool/everton/monaco... that is the difference ...

Yeah let's pretend that Swansea aren't relegation fodder just to stretch the point a little more. :D
