Would love Barkley honestly think he could be exactly what we are missing has that little bit of maverick or match winner in him he can make things happen and drive teams forward.

There was a clip posted in here of him vs us you can see he has it all. Even managed to get the better out of wanyama in a 1 vs 1 battle a few times.

I say pay the dosh and get him in, it's a world cup year he will have everything to prove believe you me.

I agree but this would be the point where an agent would flush out other interested parties to try and get his wages bumped up by us or someone else, surely?

I think we'd all agree with that last statement, the concern is that time could well be an important factor in how positively we approach the new season

Don't know if we ever had a player who was a native to the foreign lands of Liverpool, but I suppose Brad Friedel had a connection with both clubs.

Yeah we've had a few, Paul Stewart, Paul Walsh, Zeige, Friedel, Clemence, Scales all spring to mind and there's probably others, but as you quite rightly say, i'm talking about a player who wouldn't look at of place as an actor in 'Bread' or telling everyone to calm down in a Harry Enfield sketch.......
