It's absolutely ridiculous to talk about not strengthening enough as an excuse for losing against Palace. Palace's transfer business in the summer was bringing in two players on loan and buying two centre backs. They've had to play their last couple of games without a striker as they really don't have any back-up! Meanwhile Chelsea's options on the bench include an Italian international full back and a guy who has won five La Liga titles, three champions leagues, the world cup and the Euros.

If I were Spurs I'd be thinking about raiding Chelsea's youth academy for talent. We're never going to outspend Chelsea so we might as well point out to the youngsters with big prospects that you've got a much better chance of playing at Spurs. Conte loans Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham to average at best clubs and then moans about not having enough players while Winks starts in the Bernabeu.

Trouble is they're probably on similar wages to our first team which is why it seems to take an age for such players to work out they need to leave. No guarantee they'll ever top the earning power they have at 18 'playing' for the chavs.

You'd think he'd acknowledge that they only won the title last year because they weren't playing every three days.

It's the result of a coach who has been brought in for instant success and is expected to only be there for a couple of years. Neglect the academy and bring in ready made players. The great thing is the younger players are starting to realise this and are starting to make better decisions foe their careers

The thing is these players would rather sign for the big money and then later complain about the lack of gametime like Musonda has done.

It's ridiculous. They know what they're signing up for.

Possibly the best academy in the country? There is no guarantee that a player will make it. Sign a 3 year contract learn from the best youth coaches in the country then fuck off. If you are good enough you will be picked up.

Can understand why they do it.

True. Though next year if we're going in for a young player and facing competition for his signature we should send them a DVD with footage of Kane, Alli, Dier, Rose, Winks, and Trippier at the World Cup and Chelsea's young English talent plodding around for Palace and Vitesse. If they decide to take the money and not have any prospect of first-team football fair enough as they aren't the sort of players we want at this club.

I suspect it's why the majority of their young players do it. I can't see it being because they dream of playing for that club.

Chelsea offer their young players a lot of money and their deals are also heavily loaded with incentives for their families as well, they dangle a carrot in front of these kids which is why they are so keen to sign, I wouldn't blame them because of you're offered big money then you're always going to accept especially at that age.

it's up to Conte to stop his club loaning players here, there and everywhere. As team manager he ought to have the final say on player transactions. If the terms of his contract allow him to have the final say, then he's guilty of poor management of the resources at his disposal. If his contract doesn't give him the final say on such matters, it's his own stupid fault for being daft enough to sign the contract.

Conte whinging like a little bitch about their playing schedule.

http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-says-chelseas-playing-schedule-is-impossible

They really are a pathetic club, all the money in the world to have a strong enough squad and complaining like they're the only ones playing two games a week.

Reminded of this one from last season... (well I was thinking of a similar quote but this is all I could find from google)

It was always going to come unstuck once they had to play more than 1 game a week. You just can't overestimate how massive an advantage it is to have all week to prepare for a match rather than 1 or 2 days.

He's moaning about the kind of disrupting things we have to deal with on a daily basis with our players or manager getting linked with moves away. It's part of football and he needs to deal with it. He's right that this type of bullshit is annoying but having a strop and whine in a press conference isn't going to do anything but get the press foaming at the mouth for more. He's feeling the pressure and can't deal with it.

I reckon Chelsea are only a couple of bad results away from them downing tools again and having another
gap year / playcation.

Hope so.
