Get this new contract signed up! We are by far the best place for him now, playing at a good level with a manager he trusts and team mates he is settled with.

Yes he can be frustrating but that's because he tries to force the issue, it's not high % stuff. I feel like he's got back on track in the last few games.

I love that he winds teams/fans up and that he thrives on it. Bad challenge vs City aside he seems to keep it in check now.

He has a lot of holes in his game but he is still young, he has no ceiling in terms of potential and if he follows Harry's example of working to that potential then he will be incredible.

For what it's worth, anyone going overboard on the criticism of Alli is genuinely no better than any of those mouth breathers on AFTV. For how young the guy is, the numbers he's putting up are insane. If he were at United/City etc we'd all be bashing one out at the thought of ever signing him.

There's a reason he's one of the most sought after young players in that world. Wish some would wake up and appreciate that. Every player has a dip in form but class is permanent

I like this part. Just look at the collective orgasms at the mere thought of signing Martial and Pulisic, granted both players I'm also desperate for us to sign.

From a quick look at Whoscored I extracted the following info (League and CL/EL since 2015/16):-

Dele 21yo 36 goals 27 assists 8825 mins 140 mins per goal contribution
Martial 22yo 27 goals 15 assists 6655 mins 158 mins per goal contribution
Pulisic 19yo 9 goals 9 assists 4204 mins 233 mins per goal contribution

Obviously being much younger and less experience I appreciate this is very unfair on Pulisic but this is nothing more than a simple comparison of output, and not a 'who is best' exercise as that requires way more in depth analysis.

I think the problem with Dele is we see more of his flaws more often, and some people don't mesh well with his demeanour, especially when off form.

I honestly don't think he is playing any differently now from how he did when he first arrived. It's not a question of form at all. he does exactly the same things each game, in exactly the same style. The difference is in the results. Sometimes it all comes off for him, he gets assists and/or goals, and some fans say he's turned a corner or got back on form. Next game it doesn't come off, and he's lost form, needs to cut out the tricks and flicks etc. Same player doing the same things, every game. It's the fans who are inconsistent.

Lewis is still bitter because Dele didn't join Liverpool, isn't he?

Poor guy. I'm sure the hurt of selling Coutinho to Barca will ease when they have to sell Salah in 6-18 months.

"I'm 100 per cent confident. Every single player that we want to keep, I can assure you will be playing for Tottenham Hotspur next season," he told Sky Sports News.

"Mauricio's strategy has always been that if an opportunity arises that he thinks can improve the squad then we will need to look at it, but January is always a very difficult window."

Levy was speaking ahead of the announcement of which NFL matches will be played in London in 2018, which is to be made later on Thursday.

Nice statement, but in truth doesn't mean that much as all it takes is for a player to be unsettled. Then our position changes from "player A that we want to keep" to "player A is now being an arse and we no longer want to keep him". A bit like Rose.

Fortunately, I don't think this scenario applies to Kane.

This is from Poch's presser today which I thought was interesting about the deal which brought Dele to us and I had not heard it before so apologies if it has been brought up.

That is what happens in this transfer which is always difficult. We signed Dele and kept him at MK Dons, playing, and he trained with us for two
days a week to adapt for pre-season to help him adapt to the club and the team.

For Poch who seems to value fitness, training, and integration above all else this seems to the bare minimum for him to agree some of these deals.

Just read that this season so far, Dele has provided the same number of assists in PL games, 7, as he did in the whole of last season.

Whilst I understand that on occasions he may frustrate. Whether poor first touch, one trick too many etc, I don't go into meltdown, reminding myself instead that he is only 21.

He's improved since joining, improved to the level that some top clubs are sending admiring glances his way. He had a little stutter regarding form this season, but he's still produced some stellar performances for one so young. He's 21.

I truly believe he has all the attributes to be a true great, and I think consistency will come as he matures. He's not too shabby now, I'd certainly sooner have him at Spurs than anywhere else.

Did I tell you that he's only 21.

The biggest thing for me is that he seems to have upped his work rate and have a slight change in attitude. I felt for the first part of the season he was strolling around a little and wasn't pressing anywhere near as much as he used too, he can run and run and run, and i think he is finally starting to show his desire again for the team which is a little controversial to say but it has been missing.

But, i don't see that as a bad thing, he is still a kid and still maturing as a professional. These tough times are needed and i really think the second half of the season he will really push on.

Also, i think with Lamela now back. Those 3 AMs - Son, Eriksen and Dele, they all know he is chomping at the bit to take their place and i think it is already starting to show just how healthy competition can be.
