Everyone's slating Sissoko, but he's been more involved than Son today. Dele seems to be finding the conditions challenging as well - he keeps looking down at the ball rather than up at where he needs to play the pass.
Point is that you can in many individual games or if you only look isolatedly on one half find one random player who might be performing as bad or worse than Sissoko. But for the season overall, nobody has performed worse. He is the worst performer in the senior squad. So yeah, a great player can have an off-day, shit happens. But Sissoko has never an on-day, that's the difference.

You know Lamela has been injured for over a year and is getting back to full fitness yeah? We don't know how Lamela is feeling with this virus that has hit us.

Seeing as Poch has all the information to make a decision, we simply trust him on it?
You know that Lamela has been back for about two months now yeah? He’s constantly playing Sissoko all season, when it’s quite clear he’s not even worth a place in the 18.

Because at any point alli can influence or change the game. Sissoko is just consistantly below average bordering on dreadful.
Do you ever post anything positive. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an upbeat post from you. When we’re destroying teams, you’re absent!

Looking very poor so far, Son and Alli have been Invisible, I'd get Lamela on for Sissoko.
The problem is if they both come to deep searching the ball, then we get pushed back as a team. The rest of the midfield and defence have not been to establish any control on the game.

I think it’ll come out in the week that there was a big bout of something or other they caught in Barcelona ala lasagnegate and it’s affecting half the team. We’re a much better team now than we were back then so hopefully we can get through this with a win and get everyone fit again for the next game.
Or maybe it's fucking tayters out there and pissing with rain and they just don't fancy it?

Dele has a track record of notching plenty of goals and assists

Sissoko has a track record of being awful at football alongside one or two 6/10 acceptable performances

I agree with you

But this is today's match day thread and Dele today has been worse than Sissoko, so surely deserves more stick than Sissoko for his first half performance.

Hopefully those who criticise Eriksen most weeks will see this game and how much we’re missing him

I love Pochettino. I really do.

But how on Earth does he repeatedly pick Sissoko over Lamela. How can he think Sissoko is the better option? What the fuck does he see?

I’m getting really tired of this. There has to be some sort of reason for this. He can’t swriously think Sissoko is the better player. He can’t. If he does, that’s concerning as hell.

Lamela has hardly kicked a ball for over a year. You need a reality check.

And? Remember what his injury was. Why risk compromising him? It's not as if we don't have experts assessing our returning players. Same, to a lesser degree, with Wanyama.
So never play him again? In case he gets injured again? He’s been back to match fitness for over two months.

I'm not a fan of Sissoko but he's not playing bad. Dier has been worse, and Son has been invisible

I’d take Ward-Prowse off Southampton’s hands. And Lemina.

That says more about how our midfield along with Son and Dele have been performing as opposed to how good Ward-Prowse and Lemina might be ( I actually think both are decent players though )

I would bring Wanyama on for Sissoko and go to a back 3. Need to change something as we look poor so far
