I guess it is to be expected that we have problems, we have gone from mid-table to CL level, where deals are so much trickier. Look at the crap involved in the top top deals like Pogba. We are shopping just below that level now and that is where there are a lot of greedy clubs and agents wanting their pound of flesh.

I bet this happens with 75% of potential transfers (at all clubs bar those that have been financially doped). It just seems like we are fucking up more than others because we get decent info from our itks in advance. If none of us had heard positive information about Malcom before hand we would be none the wiser, and we wouldn’t know how close it had been.
It’s disappointing, but we’ve been told there are 3 targets and not to expect all of them. Still time to get someone in to help the cause.

Yeah, I think a lot of his flak is down to the self entitlement of united fans. That club has had its own way for 20 years, and now you’ve got the oil clubs muscling in on their transfers.

same old same old, I hope that whoever we do actually want we go for properly irrespective of moving goalposts. It feels from the outside like we have a kind of cast the net approach and see who we catch instead of truly targeting a player in the way some clubs seem to manage. If Moura comes off I for one will still be pleased and I would love to see maybe a Gomes/Suarez type come off, still hopeful I think the team needs an injection of quality this window to help push onto 4th or better.

Exactly, and to get their own way they have to pay someone £500k per week in wages or buy back an academy player for £89m.
