I'm sorry but this is just more confirmation bias - second half Sissoko made a few errors and looked awkward with the ball at his feet like he always does but they paled when compared to far greater errors made by players with better dribbling skills. Hell, even Kane made more skill errors than Sissoko in this game. Everyone is ignoring how well Sissoko held the ball up and dished off - something far better players in Wanyama and Dembele struggled all match to do.

I just find it incredible how people are ignoring reality. No wonder Poch finds it all bemusing. You are literally reporting Fake Football news. He's an average player overall, yes, but he was comfortably one of our best tonight. And why he'll be selected again over other worse performing but much more talented players in games to come.

Hopefully Wanyama returns to form and Moura comes and stars so Sissoko will be irrelevant. It's depressing reading Spurs fans typing utter shite week after week.
Well done for saying that. It will go over the heads of some pinheads.

Still in the cup and that’s all that matters. Awful pitch and Newport wanted it more in the first half.

Actually, didn't Kane miss from 6 yards out? Imagine what would have happened if Sissoko had done that even though that's not his primary role? It would be like blaming Kane for an own goal or a defensive error.

I hope this game hasn't taken too much out of Kane for the United game. He played the full 90mins, which I think wasn't the original plan.
One of the greatest mysterious in football is why managers play a weak team and then struggle to get a fkin replay which they'll moan like fk about as playing ro many games, rather than put a strong team out and go 3.0 up in 45min then rest players. Even if by some miracle you have to play your stars for 80mins its still 1 game less.

Simple we r awful without ce even though he's not been great. The signing of llorente shows what an amateur club we are he is truly awful not his problem we don't play anywhere near close his strengths and we have made a very good player with strength in the air look very very basic. We cannot see what is right in front of us... Striker, fast wide player and some sort of creative cover for eriksen.. That's what we need... We all see it yet nothing happens...

Poch digging out the team has pissed me off more than the performance. He set the team up all wrong against a tough opponent that would get in our faces. Tippy tappy football was always going to put us in danger against a team who were going to hustle and harry from the get go. He knows he got things wrong himself because he changed the setup completely at HT.

The poor first half was down to his own error.

You have to ask why Llorente was purchased, he's not our type of player. I almost feel sorry for him.

If he hadn't missed one in the first half, it would have been an OG. Just saying.

I agree as well. He isn’t the most talented by a long way but I do believe he tries his best and Poch is right- his transitional play is sometimes good. He is athletic and can quickly turn defence into attack. The problem comes when having done that he has to play someone else in - his decision making and quality of his final ball are more often than not frustratingly poor.

Call that first half whatever you want but it wasn't tippy tappy football! If anything poch set up for a bruise fest with sissoko, dier, wanyama, llorente and dembele

The players deserve to get called out for that they are premier league players on ridiculous money and they got out played and fought by league 2 players on way less.

You’re giving him way too much credit. In the first half we played slowly, and players were taking way too many touches. We were set up all wrong. If he didn’t get it wrong why did he change it so quickly? Normally he waits until we’ll into the second half to make changes.

Yes the players were poor, but his set up didn’t help them at all.

What and you think poch told them to play slowly and take too many touches?

I didn't think our terrible first half showing was because we tried to play tiki-taka on a cabbage patch, but just because all of our players played really badly, both defensively and especially offensively. Newport pressed us like motherfuckers in the first half and - not for the first time when faced with a high press - we went to pieces and lost the ability to pass to a white shirt or trap a football in the same postcode as our first touch. In industry-insider football-speak, we were what is known in the trade as "just generally shite", rather than coming undone because we were trying to be too intricate.

That's all true: he snatches at shots and is hesitant with his passing. Then again, if you're going to be criticised for each and every mistake, it may make you nervous.
