But with Ozil the 1-0 becomes 2-0, the 2-0 becomes 3-0 and they end up winning 3-1 when they inevitably concede. Arsenal have always been better at scoring goals and beating the weak sides than us, and now they'll be even better at it.
Besides -are they really that frail defensively? I think that's a popular misjudgement. Their defensive stats towards the end of last season were actually very good indeed, and a supposed top 4 side like us didn't look like scoring past them at any time on Sunday. They now have Flamini to shield the defence, and Ramsey is becoming a busy fucker who is becoming very adept at winning the ball back. Koscielny, when he eradicates his addiction to red cards is a superb defender, and has discovered excellent defensive understanding with Mertesacker.
The worst thing is that they now seem to be able to destroy teams on the counter attack (like us on Sunday) so they have that gameplan for the big teams, whilst they have a player in Ozil better than any at picking the lock against the 'park the bus' teams.
When we reach full strength, gel as a team, and develop genuine understanding we might be as good as Arsenal, but I think this signing of Ozil has now put top 4 out of our reach this year...

According to transfermarkt.co.uk, Eriksen has 2 goals and 3 assists in Eresdivisie this season.
League stats Christian Eriksen:
2010/11: 28 games - 6 goals - 11 assists
2011/12: 30 games - 7 goals - 19 assists
2012/13: 30 games - 10 goals - 17 assists
That makes it 25 goals and 50 assists in 98 league games the last three seasons (+4 games). So a goal every 4 games and an assist every second game in the league, not bad for a 21-year-old... even if we're talking the Eresdivisie.
Champions league stats total: 20 games - 2 goals - 7 assists. One assist every 3rd game.
He's not Özil, but for the price we payed for a talent his age I can't think of better options out there

This is why I love this place. First we go on a shopping spree and it's Arsenal who? Then the Arse sign ONE PLAYER and now we're worried about them. Did you really expect them sit by and watch us surpass them? If we make it back into the CL it will because we earned it not because someone else handed it to us.

ESPN are awful at tracking stats, I've found this out before. I wouldn't use it as a good measure of any player's goal/assist ratio.

They defend as a team, are physically fit and have high workrate. That is why they concede less.

Oezil had crazy numbers at RM and is world class, but if Arsenal fans think he is going to replicate those numbers there they are delusional. Real score over 100 goals a season in the league alone. Something like 30% more than Arsenal score, and I can tell you confidently that Arsenal will not start scoring almost 50% more because of Oezil.

I don't think they were deliberately lying. I think they had a database to display error. I was stating that I thought it was very odd.
Ozil's stats are somewhat padded by the higher degree of dominance and quality Real and particularly the German national team have had over opponents. I don't believe playing for the Danish national team is quite the assist and goal honey pot that doing so for the German team would be.
