Given the injury to Richy and the way the teamed performed it has to be 3-5-2.

Hopefully Kulu on the bench to come on if needed.

Yeah that's the team I'd go for.

Sess's pace will be needed with their quick forwards.

Hugo
Romero - Dier - Lenglet
Bissouma
Doherty - Bentancur - PEH - Sessegnon
Kane - Son

We will have the slight advantage of an additional day's rest, so Conte might actually go with Perisic ahead of Sess for this one. Only other changes I can see are Bissouma and Lenglet to start.
Yeah this.

When Kulusevski is fit such a shame we can’t go:

Lloris

Emerson Romero Dier Davies (Reggy could have been left back ?)

Bentancur Bissouma PEH

Kulusevski Kane Son

Ultimately that team is awesome in midfield and attack bit back four is a little suspect as most of our centre backs better in a three.

I think Romero and dier in a back 4 is a recipe for disaster

If we played 4-3-3 I'd rather have this back 4.

Romero--Dier--Lenglet--Davies

Not necessarily as we have the three central midfielders to cover when he roams forward.

Although I agree our back four is pretty weak in the line-up I posted, the midfield and the attack I wouldn’t swap but the defence for a back four would take a lot of work (and ironically shame we don’t have Reggy as loved him at left back).

Team virtually picks itself. Only question will be the Lenglet or Davies decision.

Lloris
Romero Dier Lenglet
Doherty Bentancur Bissouma Hojbjerg Perisic
Kane Son
Will be stunned if it isn't this and keeping Kulusevski on the bench. Still nervous about Kane and PEH getting no rest. Perisic benefits from being in a 3-5-2 IMO

I think it’s better to have a more balanced team and leave one of the better players out and rotate, than get him in and imo make our team weaker overall.
352 gives us the midfield 3 you say but if kulusevski/richarlison is in the bench also gives you the 343 option

Agree, although Sessegnon vs Perisic is also something Conte may consider.I think Sessegnon is probably better defensively than Perisic, especially up against someone like Anthony or Sancho (small, fast feet).

This is the "break glass in case of emergency" option we would deploy if we were chasing a game and needed to sacrifice one of the 3 CB's for an additional attacker.

Or, you could also say: "but if Bissouma/Skipp is in the bench also gives you the 352 option."

It works both ways...

That’s true, either 343/352 seems to work, but I don’t think at all that back 4 should be being thought about, doesn’t suit our players.

That back 4 would get ravaged, the likes of Dier etc completely suit a back 3 and we have wing backs not full backs aside from Emerson who is being converted from a RB to a RWB.

Agree with the line-up, the dilemma is start Sess for his pace or Perisic for his big game experience.

I’ve been at United’s last two home games - Omonia Nicosia, and Newcastle - and they are absolutely there for the taking.

Their wingers are clueless, they attack by passing sideways, and their squad depth is fucked.

The only first teamers they had on the bench today were Lindelof, Malacia and Rashford. Martial, Maguire, Eriksen, AWB, VDB all out.

McTominay will be back from suspension on Wednesday but they’re still ripe for the picking.

Will Eriksen be back?
