:) A &C

I was about to ask - how did you feel after 2 pts from 8 games?

at that stage I was looking for us to get 13pts from every 10 for probable safety - 14 pts for certain safety

which given our startwas a very tall order

we've got 17 in the first 10

so we carry forward +3 for the next 10

oh and Harry please play O'Hara v Fulham :)

Ha, ha; yes, we have been in it awhile now. We need 6 points from the next 2 games. Otherwise we will be well in it! Come on you Spurs!

So what, even if we'd have won today we'd still have been only 4 points off of the drop zone. By the sounds of it it was quite an even game and Newcastle got lucky with their winner. we played well enough to get a draw.

Hopefully a win on boxing day and a win at westbrom and the table will look totally differnt.

I'm really pissed about todays result. But the Newcastle fans would have expected a win at home today, and we'll expect a win at home to them later in the season.

We're also 4 points from 9th place, so lets not forget about how tight it is. Every team in the bottom half will lose games, especially away from home. We need to get our chins up and focus on winning on friday. We have a massive weekend after christmas. 6 points to play for in the space of 3 days. And both games are very winable, Fulham at home and West Brom away.

This 'temporary glitch' has lasted since the 1-0 loss to Sunderland on the opening day in August 2007. ie, it's not so 'temporary'.

Although we can still be classed as being in the shit their are many reasons to be optimistic for the rest of the season.

We have taken 6 points out of a possible twelve from the so called big four

We look to be a lot better at the back and are kepping more clean sheets.

Look at some of the games we have played under harry so far, away at Man city, away at west ham, away to the arse, at home to Liverpool and manure, not traditionally games we get many points in, and yet we have taken points from all these games.

The transfer window is right around the corner, giving harry a chance to do some wheeling and dealing.

Gomes is beginning to show some form

Modric is also finding his feet and the back of the net.

The form of Lennon

All of these are reasons to be optimistic going into the second half of the season, and im sure their are many more.

Harry's still playing with the squad he inherited and he's done a great job so far. We were utterly lost when Ramos was fired. 2 points from 8 games was when we should have been panicking, and the board did the right thing and got rid of Ramos. Harry has managed 17 points from 10 games. That's a great return. Under him, we've faced Top 4 teams four times and walked away undefeated.

We are not in the shit, not by a long chalk. 1 point from the relegation zone is meaningless in this year's League. There is only a nine point spread between 8th and 20th with half the season yet to play. And of those 12 teams only three have a positive goal difference. West Brom and Blackburn haven't so much been leaking goals, than hemmorhaging them.

OK, we've had a few bad results recently, but we're still fighting and doing it bloody well. If anything, I'd say that the future is bright not gloomy.

Nail.....head....hit.

Harry knows he has a talented squad of players that is lacking in several areas. He knows what we need and how to put a workable team together.

We can't take safety or finishing mid table for granted but Harry has been here before and unlike previous managers has the experience to deal with this situation.

well i wish i had your outlook...and optimism mate, not quite sure about your blackburn and west brom point,if they are shipping goals left right and center as you say,and yet there right with us down there, you've seen what a new manager did for us, maybe big sam will have the same effect for blackburn...

i just hope your right,i'll be happy to say thanks if you are.

Unfortunately we are still paying for our start to the season I dont think our record under Harry is too bad remember he only took over 2 months ago and im sure if you were told we would be in the position we are in now we would all take it considering the position we were in then.

Alot will change between now and the end of the season the league is so close at the moment and it will be interesting to see after yesterdays results how stoke and Hull will respond and if their bubble has burst. I trust Harry to get us out of this and too mid table safety by the end of the season!

I'm tired of every match being a must win. I long for the days of mid-table obscurity.

At the moment there is no mid table obscurity for anyone this season with the league being so close. Nearly every game is a must win for about 7 or 8 clubs not just us!

under Harry our form has been top 6 material

if we escape relegation after the 2 points from 8 games JR left us with, it will be a tremendous performance - if we win a cup on top - pure delirium :)

I jes hope we get reinforcements in Jan

Look at the teams we have played since harry took over as well, not exactly an easy run, and yet we've still picked up a lot of points, with harry using the same players he inherited from ramos.
