First game will be away to Newcastle, or away to United.

Last game of the season will be away to Sunderland.

At some point in the season we'll have a run of games that include United, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barca, Bayern, and the 1982 Brazilian world cup team. All of which will take place within one week.

I want Utd very early in the season, they are perennial slow starters. We could bag a decent win if we catch them only getting into their stride.

Indeed I do.

The second fixture normally comes about in late jan/early Feb.

Riiiiggghhhttt.

Could you please explain then why over the last 8 years or so we have played Fulham, in the league, on the following dates, if "We always play Fulham in the Xmas week" and "Second fixture in Jan/ early Feb"?

11th September, 30th August, 30th October, 17th September, 15th November, 16th October. The last one being last season

Infact over those years only 3 fixtures have been played in, what could be classified as the xmas week, two on boxing day and last seasons match on new years day.

Back to the drawing board?

I would like either United or Chelsea at home. If we then win that game, we will announce ourselves as genuine title contenders. Nevertheless, whoever we get, it's important to get off to a winning start.

Blimey! You're not a school teacher are you?

It was only my perception that we seem to always play the over Xmas (last season and the one before, I think)

You can't make a statement like "We ALWAYS play Fulham over xmas" and use that statement to basically reply to me tell me that i am wrong in thinking we could play them on the opening day of the season without believing this to be true, its not a speculative statement. So dont think anyone is falling for that "perception" nonsense.

You wrote with ill-advised confidence that you were right and i was wrong. Unfortunately it backfired that's all.

So i must be a teacher because i knew you were talking crap and therefore did a little research? I wish i would paid as a teacher for that sort of thing, i would be millionaire by now with some of the stuff i read on here

Hey, I've not no problem with it backfiring on me, as you say.

Maybe I should have worded it better, it was just my perception that we play Fulham a Xmas time.

But anyway, thanks for taking time out of your day to do the research to put me straight.

Don't know where I'd be without you.

Clearly you would still be making outragous and massively mis-informed comments.

Well done on your advancement. A+

To be honest we have played them around that time in recent years. At least that's my impression of it. My step-dad is a Fulham fan, as his his dad, and if I go back to Kent for xmas and/or new year we always seem to be playing them.

That's just the vague impression I have of it. Please don't trouble me with the facts.
