To be honest we have played them around that time in recent years. At least that's my impression of it. My step-dad is a Fulham fan, as his his dad, and if I go back to Kent for xmas and/or new year we always seem to be playing them.

That's just the vague impression I have of it. Please don't trouble me with the facts.

Careful how you go there, young spurger. I sense an impending detention.

See Lenny thats how to write a speculative comment. No use of the word Always.

Your right though there seems to be this impression that we play fulham over xmas. It seems like its a bit of a myth born from simply playing at that time about 3 times in the last 5years or so, where as in reality over the history of spurs v fulham games, xmas fixtures probably only make up around 25% of it, maybe a little bit more.

It also has something to do with how they sort out the boxing day/christmas period games. The fixture compilers try to reduce travelling distance on the boxing day, so we wouldn't have a team in the North or Wales. They also try to avoid any derbies that would involve high levels of policing, so that leaves us with Fulham, QPR, maybe Villa, Wolves or Norwich at a push. (I hope not Norwich away because me and a few mates who live there were planning on making that game a bit of a weekend event).

I reckon it will be QPR

there out on the 17th june right? so much planning must go into them but i suppose we have to play certain teams at certain points and im sure clubs get chance to try n play teams at certain times too. i cant beileve for one minute that it is all completely randomly done.. police, time of year and lots more must be all taking into equation. but still hope for qpr or norwich at home first.. you cant beat a good start to get confidence going. u never know where it could take you!!

Personally I wouldnt want a promoted team first game of the season home or away. They could come in full of confidence with nothing to really lose at that stage in the season either. That can lead to a tougher game than most expect. Almost like a cup game against an underdog.

I would rather take a not so good established side.

Fixtures out on Friday...

Couldn't see a thread on this so thought I'd get one going.

Simple really, who would you like us to be playing in the first few games.

I reckon we will be away first game after 2 years with home games. I think our first game will be away to a top 4 rival followed by a home game with a promoted team.

4 points from 2 games if it comes out like that!!

My wedding is on 5th November. If we have a home game I'm going to be hard pushed to make it to the reception let alone the ceremony itself.

Hmmmm.....

You really want the big teams early because they won't yet be up to full steam and the newly promoted teams after Christmas once the Prem has kicked all the joy out of them, but before the end Feb when they will be really fighting.

Man Utd at WHL please.:hump:
