Complete shambles but in the end gutted for Kristoff, he came so close.

I'm betting that because of the conflicting messages about the finish line and all the chaos everybody will get the same time in the end. What a cock-up by ASO's route representative, they have a guy who goes round every stage early in the morning pointing out any possible faults. Incredible that he missed the fact that the finish line was too low!

Orica GreenEDGE have been fined £1,400 for their bus debacle. The driver really should know that he's not allowed to cross the finish line. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the changes to the finish point contributed to the crash either.

Thomas and Stannard have got the all clear. Tony Martin was suggested to have broken his collarbone but apparently only has concussion.

Martin fainted twice in the team bus, I'd be amazed if he started tomorrow. But good to see he got the all clear on the collar bone.

Martin started today. Those cyclists are made of some ridiculously strong stuff.

Brilliant win by Gerrans today - beating one of the fastest in the world in Sagan.

The Aussies have done it again! This time in the TTT. Brilliant win and Orica GreenEDGE's first ever yellow jersey.

Great vid too:

Tough choices now for OGE though. Do you waste energy for a few days defending the Malliot Jaune against a massive assault from Sky/TST/BMC or do you focus on your original program for Le Tour?

The next two stages are so flat that OPQS, Cannondale and Lotto will ensure that we get a sprint finish, thus helping OGE keep the jersey.

Stage 7 on Friday will be the tough one, I don't think Gerrans will be in yellow when they get to Albi.

To be fair two stage wins and the yellow jersey for a couple of days is more than they would have expected from the tour, so in a sense the pressure is off them and they can just ride each stage as it comes.

As has been said above, all OGE need to do now is sit on the front and make sure any breakaway doesn't succeed. The last 30km of the next two stages will have the sprint teams dictating the tempo. All Gerro will need to do is stay out of crashes (touch wood). There are no time bonuses for stage wins (unlike the Giro).

Agree, OGE's goals for this tour were the last two stages and perhaps a sneaky win for Gossy in a sprint (unlikely IMO). They don't have a man for the overall. This is amazing right now for a team in its second year. Cam Meyer and Simon Clarke will try and get in the break on mountain stages and Gerro and Alba will have a go in the break on rolling stages.

Jurgen van den Broeck developed fluid in the knee after the crash yesterday, has a massive swelling and is unable to continue. Shame, he could've done some real damage in the mountains and was a podium outsider.

Seems quite fitting that Daryl Impey today became the first African to wear the yellow jersey considering the Mandela situation.

Cav's explosion on the team bus after the stage was amazing, the tv crews outside the team bus caught a lot of it on tape!

Where did you see that? Wasn't on ITV's highlights, although they did show Greg Henderson having a go at one of his teammates yesterday.

They didn't show Cav's crash on the coverage I was watching. What happened?
