I would love, for one season (our last at the lane), for there to be no official home kit and for us to wear a different kit from our history in every home game. Obviously it couldn't happen (probably some rules about kits sponsorship and consistency and stuff, loss of sponsorship revenue, inability to get hold of shirts of appropriate quality or accuracy etc.), but wouldn't it just be awesome?! Then we could have a dark blue away and yellow third strip to cover all our away games. We could maybe have an official home shirt for European games if we just had to have one.

Just imagine Harry playing in the 1991-92 season (and 1991 FA Cup winners) Umbro/Holsten shirt, or seeing Hugo in Tony Parkes' 1984 Le Coq Sportif/Holsten UEFA Cup Winners shirt, maybe the 1960-61 shirt could get a run out. Although I wouldn't be sad if we decided against having that Puma one with the weird yellow pee stripes from the year we got CL footie!

They announced Villa earlier in the week as well didn't they?
Not sure about that, but I see news items about it going back to January. Maybe. I haven't seen any announcement though.

There was ITK that UA were pursuing Saints as they had heard that we'd gone with Nike.
Anyone who actually believes that is an idiot. Sorry but these things just dont work like that. Never had and never will. These deals are in the works for a long while before anything concrete is announced. They were pursuing Saints probably since they froze the Adidas contract a few years ago. Plus, it would be stupid beyond belief for a company trying to break into the market to only want 1 club.

I'm not saying I believe it, only that it was out there

I think it depends on a few factors, and I think UA may have to try a bit harder since they don't have global stores that Nike, Adidas, and Puma have. That may mean they scramble, or they may try well in advance. Also, there have been rumors of Nike's interest in us for awhile, so UA may have been flirting with Saints for awhile too, and we're only just now hearin of it.

I tend to believe in that this has been coming for awhile, as Nike undoubtedly targeted us at least a couple years back with some of their big guns (Man U, Arse) going other ways, and our own shirt sales skyrocketing from a decade ago.

You dont do business based on what competitors are doing. Especially when you're in the process of breaking into a market. Under Armour is trying to break into the football market, specifically in England. Thats why they went after Saints. Thats why they went after Villa. Thats why they went after us. To say that they pursued Saints because Nike wants us is incredibly daft. What we do with our manufacturer has no bearing at all on what clubs UA goes after. They'll want as many clubs as they can get to get their name out there in England and grow there brand. We may go with Nike but that is 1000% not the reason why UA pursued Southampton.

I don't think you are correct here. UA will have a marketing budget, which is what these deals come out of. So if they had money allocated to renew a deal with us, and they find out that we've signed with someone else, it is perfectly logical to think that they could then use that money to sign another team up.

The deals are so expensive these days that manufacturers can't just sign up as many premier teams as they want.

I don't think you're quite understanding the point "UA went after Saints because we went with Nike" accurately. You're right, it has nothing to do with specifics, but no one is saying that. The fact is that UA is losing their biggest shirt seller in the market with us, so they were/are undoubtedly scrambling for more clubs to pick up. That has everything to do with what the competitors are doing, because it's a matter of niches. If the business is not there, you simply have to move to the next niche for a source of income.

Although UA kits are not available in my location and Nike probably would be, i must say IF there is genuine interest as opposed to rumoured interest from Nike i would be disappointed. I quiet like the varied options we have had from UA. Nike is just so generic. I suppose we will know in a year or so.

Id like to stick with UA also but im almost positive we'll go to Nike. Hope UA ponies up some more money because we have had some absolutely beautiful kits under them. Every year, we have had at least 1 10/10 kit. The first 2 years, we had 2. The last 2 years, the 3rd kits have been absolutely gorgeous. And next year, the teasers for the homes and aways look absolutely unbelievably nice.

That 2nd year of UA, 2013/14, probably one of the best of kit years we've ever had. Home was a 9/10. Away and third were 12/10. Absolutely stunning.

Please UA. For the final season at WHL, give us a very traditional white kit with blue shorts and a navy away kit. Go crazy on third kits, but please, no silver tape, sashes, Asian influence, or tunic collars.
