3 wins would need utd to get 6 wins and a draw from 8 games to overtake us with goal difference. They've got 15 wins all season. Would need to be a hell of a collapse from us plus near title winning form from them

2 wins should 3 to be sure.

villa have got European games and two tough league fixtures after plus injuries 4 wins might be enough

If we are looking to push on next season then I’d like to think we can finish above Villa this season. Especially with two games in hand and no European football this season. We shouldn’t be hoping for 5th to be CL.

If 5th gets Champions League then we need 11 points from the remaining 7 games to guarantee it - only 10 if we assume that Man Utd can't close a 21 goal difference gap.

That's if they win all of their remaining games which given the way they've been playing this season I highly doubt. Sounds like it's in the bag right? Looking at the fixtures it might not be - as theirs are a lot easier than ours:

Bournemouth (A)
Newcastle (H)
Sheffield Utd (H)
Burnley (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Arsenal (H)
Brighton (A)

Only two teams in the top nine left to play, and both are at home.

I can see a scenario where we lose five of the remaining seven (Newcastle and Chelsea away, and all of the top three), particularly if we have a fixture pile-up with all the rearranged games. So if Utd do the business against the sides they're supposed to then they could still catch us. Could really do with turning up for the NLD and actually taking some points from Stamford Bridge for a change while Chelsea are shit.

We won't lose to Liverpool, Arsenal and City. We will take points of at least one of them.

It's wishful thinking. City don't drop many points at the business end of the season and we've taken what...three points at Anfield in the last decade? Best we can hope for is another Arsenal bottlejob/implosion as the pressure heats up but even that is looking less and less likely the further the season goes on.

City could well do us....but its not wishful thinking lol

Are you aware theyve not even scored a league goal at our gaff and we've an excellent overall record against them

They did win in the cup though - that will have ended the hoodoo in the minds of their players.

Regardless - you know what they're like at the business end of the season. Can't remember them dropping too many points in massive pressure cooker games in the final few weeks, all of our wins against them seem to come early/mid season.

id be very surprised if Utd win both of their next two. Bournemouth away is not a gimme by any stretch of the imagination

The only big 6 game we've lost so far this season in the league is Chelsea and that was with 9 men.

Don't think it's wishful thinking to think that we can get 3-4 points out of City(H), Arsenal (H), Liverpool (A).

I reckon they get 15 from all of those.

I reckon they get undone by Newcastle and Arsenal. Sheffield UTD are staging something of a fightback right now, so they might cause Man UTD some issues. Bournemouth are a weird side, but I think their purple patch has passed. Burnley and Palace are fairly poor and Brighton on the last day of the season might be a walkover with their season over at that point. Only thing that might change there is that Brighton are at home and might want to put in a performance for their fans.

I'm not expecting us to get more than 7-9 points tbh.

You realise Uniteds longest run without defeat this season is, *checks notes* 5 games.

Their longest winning run is 4 all season.

You really think they're going to make up 11 points and 22 GD? Seriously?

They lost to 3-0 to Bournemouth at home. They lost 1-0 to Palace at home. They lost 3-1 to Brighton at home. They lost 1-0 to Newcastle away.

They are not very good. They are not catching us. Jesus wept.

Emery will also want to win the conference league.

I know the opposition won't be the best, but those games will still take a toll on their squad.

Yeah I'm totally mystified as to why people keep worrying about or mentioning United.

1. Every time they get within 3 points of us they fall away again.
2. They have only scored 40 odd goals in 31 games.
3. They can't hold a lead.
4. They have most of their CBs out.
5. They are not a proactive team and struggle against teams that counter them.
6. They are shit.

Must I go on?

Any worry should have ended when Chelsea beat them.

We didnt even our main man playing.

It wont have done anything to the players
