The City game will 99,9% sure be set to between those two final games.

Ah didn’t realise that. Well that changes things but still two out of three I suppose! And anyway, City is usually a banker 😒

I'm pretty sure statistically speaking, there's no change overall in the form of teams once relegation is confirmed. They continue to be equally as bad as they always were. Potentially this is different factors offsetting each other e.g. pressure lifted vs lack of motivation.
Didn’t we smash hull 1-7 and Norwich 0-5 when they were both relegated?

If Madrid knock City out it could be May 8th we play them (play liverpool on the 5th)

More likely to be 14th or 15th though obviously it has to be if City reach CL semi.

Newcastle have 12 injuries - latest injury to Willock
IMO, I would play the XI that started the 2nd half (May be Sarr for Hojbjerg) and hope we win- Their injury list gives us every possibility to go there and take 3 points.

After Newcastle our next game is Arsenal at home on 28th. Between now & 27th, Villa play 3 PL games (Arsenal, Bourenmouth,Chelsea) to ours 1 (Newcastle). Win against Newcastle is a must, to go into NLD in reasonable gap with Villa if they do well in those

With that many injuries we should aim to fly out of the traps and get a couple of goals in the first half. Give the crowd anything to be excited by and they will get right behind the team.

Arsenal have about 5 fixtures between now and the NLD, we have one. I do think it would be better to not come into that one too cold, but they are going to be knackered towards the end of that game... really big chance to get the win there.

Agreed.

having plenty of rest in the 2 weeks before a really big game can have its disadvantages as well as advantages - we can sometimes be a little off pace, and not really "on it", perhaps a little rusty.

If this was away form home, with our record there and the way they are playing, I wouldn't give us much hope right now. But I think the atmosphere will be really really hostile and they might not cope with that.

Got a feeling, one mistake or moment of magic from either side determines this one - can't call it, but my stomach does back flips every time I think about this game.

We are unbeaten when we have had our first choice back 4 this season (barring chelsea where 1 was injured, and 2 were sent off)

It’s also interesting to note that we conceded 20 goals in the 10 league matches starting from Chelsea to- but not including -Man U (when I think Romero and vdV first started together again?)

That’s 20 in 10 matches compared to 25 in the other 21 other matches of the season. That’s a huge difference. Over the course of the season that’s a difference of around 30 goals.

Cannot wait for the NLD and will be there: so much on the line for both teams.

For me, with the games I’ve attended so far this season on my ST, Liverpool have been the best opponent and with 9 players as well. I feel Arsenal will match that intensity: it’s the biggest (especially with all that’s on the line) one since the 2022 home NLD.

Totally agree with the points raised on their run-in beforehand and the stark contrast with ours. So hard to call that atmosphere will most certainly be something. There could be a Danny Rose moment on the cards: even though it’s over a fortnight away I’m getting butterflies as well as bricking it for this game.

Emery will also want to win the conference league.

I know the opposition won't be the best, but those games will still take a toll on their squad.

Oh god, more Champions of Europe chants next season *yawn*

That’s a good point. Obviously our defence is not as bad as it looks sometimes. If we can get anywhere near conceding a goal a game over a season we won’t be far away considering we rarely fail to score .

As expected, but good to have clarification. Glad it's not on the Wednesday, it gives us an extra day rest before the final game away at Sheffield United.

hopefully we have 4th wrapped up in case we need to let city win 27-0 to pip the scum to the title.

We pretty much have CL qualification wrapped up either way. Same with Villa. I thoroughly expect to see the u21s in this. Or to see Romero willingly throw the ball into his own net 5 times. Under no circumstances should we try to get anything from this game if the title is still in the balance for the fake north London club.
