I know this sounds pretty ridiculous but missing out on CL wouldn’t be a disaster for us at this stage. We are still in the early stages of a rebuild and feel a season in the EL might be the best thing for us. I reckon we could have a good crack at winning it too. I know CL money will be great but I don’t think we are going to miss out on any signings over the summer because we don’t have CL football.

It could help us blood young players,

but the champions league music, the hairs stand up on back of your neck

it if done right will bring us up a level

Just make sure we finish 5th. That's a great achievement all things considered. We hugely overachieved in the first 10 games or so. Finishing 5th will be a good season.

You just never know with this team expected points next 3 games zero but then again we might grab 4 I’ve given up looking at the fixtures and predicting how many points we will get

Yeah id be very surprised if we finish anything other than 5th from here

I think we'll finish on 67 points . So wherever that puts us... 5th I imagine?
Seems quite possible but, knowing us , the 7 points will include us beating Arsenal or Man City and losing to Shef Utd. Much less than 7 points and every chance that either Newcastle or Man Utd could catch us and likely that Villa would get 4th.

At least I don't have to be super nervous before our games now. My expectations have gone right out the window!

Let’s sound a bit more like Ange and just say we massively underachieved after the first 10 games. It makes me feel better.

We are pretty likely to finish on 66 points. Looking at the other teams below us, that almost certainly means finishing 5th. That may or may not mean CL. Right at this moment I'm not sure which I'd prefer, CL or EL.

I really don't care about CL. It hasn't made us better, so it isn't the be all and end all.

I'd really love to have a proper crack at the EL, something we've never done before. With no drop down from the CL we'd have a really good chance. What a fantastic achievement that would be for the club. As opposed to going out of the CL in the early stages with no drop down. I'm sure Mr Levy wouldn't agree with me though.

Agreed I'd like us to take it seriously.
