Arsenal win the CL, we come 5th and qualify for CL

or

Bayern knock out Arsenal, we come 5th and qualify for EL

OPTION 2 all day long for me.

Absolutely. Especially as there is a good chance we would go out early in the Champions League after a forgettable group stage whereas they would remember winning the tournament for years to come.

Could not agree more. If it means Arsenal win nothing then I'm more than happy to get into the Europa and go further in it/win it, than going out early in the CL. I know others will say we've done better in the CL than the EL but its a simple fact that better teams are in the CL and none will be dropping down this year. We have a much better chance of actually winning it.

Personally I'm more bothered about those behind us right now. I know we have a 10 point cushion but the last match was a bit of a shocker that we have to correct.

Yeah but despite how bad we were, they still need to make up those 10 points.

Man U have taken 6 points from their last 6 matches.

Newcastle, who have been in great form, have taken 13 points from their last 6.

Newcastle and Man U also have to play each other.

Newcastle’s fixtures do look good, but it’s still a tall order to make up 10 points in 6 matches.

In a weird say I wonder if tonight's results might put a bit of pressure back on Villa in the league, knowing they don't have the comfort blanket of 5th either.

For what it's worth I think they'll finish above us, but it's still all to play for.

Big run from here and secure 4th on goal difference in the last game of the season when we smash in the 5th goal in the 95th minute

Is no one worried about finishing 6th (look at Newcastle’s run in). If that happened we need City to win the fa cup or we could end up in the Conference.

I think it will still be in the balance by Thursday night. Dortmund was a shocker but we can still get plenty of points with City and Villa. Draw for West Ham would keep Leverkusen from max pts. Liverpool could win but would prob still go out.
If we are left with City and Villa versus their 3 teams it’s still in the balance. Would back City to win both v Bayern, same with Villa. Don’t see Dortmund or Bayern getting through so Leverkusen are their main pts gatherers.
no extra pts for winning one of the trophies so it’s just a matter of getting there.

Sounded good

The Burnley and Sheff Utd wins (yes i know) should be enough. It would mean Newcastle or Man United would have to win every single game then.

In 09/10, our 32nd game was a humbling defeat in the North East that left us in 5th. We knew we'd have to follow that with consecutive games against Arsenal and Chelsea, with an ominous game against Manchester City just before the end of the season. Time is a flat circle.

Apparently Dortmund have earned 100m (euros) from the CL this season.

And that is without including match day revenue.

Already relegated Sheffield utd last game of the season at brammal lane is a major concern. We lose those types of games every time, let's see what the new regime can conjure up

Really?
if we were to get 6 points from our last 6 games that would mean Newcastle, United or Chelsea would have to win all their remaining games to catch us, and that’s only if we get 6.
Plus United and Newcastle play each other.
Absolutely no chance we get caught by anyone behind us.

Mind the gap vibes.

2 years ago we smashed relegated Norwich 5-0 on the final day to secure CL football.

Villa will have played 3 games more than us before we play our next at home to Arsenal.

Arsenal play twice in league in same period
