The Burnley and Sheff Utd wins (yes i know) should be enough. It would mean Newcastle or Man United would have to win every single game then.
I wouldn't be surprised if we only got 4 points in our remaining games. But in all likelihood that would be enough for fifth anyway.

Already relegated Sheffield utd last game of the season at brammal lane is a major concern. We lose those types of games every time, let's see what the new regime can conjure up
We've lost that type of game once, at Newcastle.

It's a Newcastle thing, not a relegated teams thing.

We got 4th under Conte when we did the chasing and finalised it on the final day by smashing Norwich away (Sonny getting the golden boot in the process).

Final day game we smashed Hull City for 7.

Can we please stop this narrative that we don't do well in these games? It's boring and revisionist.

After last season, I’d be more than happy to get back into the Europa League, and I’d like to bloody win it..!!

5th-6th was always probably going to be about right this season for us, but the first half of the season heightened expectations.

No need to think Villa have easier run in First reason I don't think they have They have some tricky teams to play
Match by match Let's just beat Arse and take it from there

In a weird say I wonder if tonight's results might put a bit of pressure back on Villa in the league, knowing they don't have the comfort blanket of 5th either.

For what it's worth I think they'll finish above us, but it's still all to play for.
They have a big game Thursday again they’ll really start to tire soon

I've given up on holding so much onto the hope that we'll do enough. We're so up and down. I could easily see us beating Arsenal then losing away to Chelsea. The thing that has disappointed me the most though are the away performances in this second half of the season. Not getting wins at any of Everton, Brighton, Fulham, West Ham and Newcastle away has been disappointing, and in three of those we've been thrashed.

I'm pretty relaxed and accepting of any outcome now to be honest.

Although we would all of course want us to qualify for the Champions League, there is nothing wrong with Europa football next season. It's all good development for our players and gets us back to playing twice a week.

Is no one worried about finishing 6th (look at Newcastle’s run in). If that happened we need City to win the fa cup or we could end up in the Conference.
It's the worst case scenario and certainly can't be discounted. The way I look at it is that, if it transpires, then we will get what we deserve as we really should get 5th at worst from where we are. It's definitely quite likely that City don't win the FA Cup.

If we blow a ten point lead with just six matches left, we don’t deserve anything better than the conference imo. There’s no way we should be giving up that amount of points, even if we do have some difficult fixtures.

I'm happy with either, I wanted CL for the extra money and better competition etc but having sat back and thought about it it might be better to get EL for the younger players coming through. We want to give them more game time for their development and finding a balance between taking the competition seriously and giving them more game time, EL might just be the best solution. Not only that I don't think we are ready for CL yet, I have faith we will be in the following season but not the next one just yet.

I'm not ready to see our terrible defence against the champions league teams...

The words 'cricket score' comes to mind

Thing is if our defending hasn't vastly improved by next season whatever European competition we are in will be a hard watch. There's 100% a blueprint of how to play against us now and teams that sit back and counter are causing more problems than those that go toe to toe. Where do you think we will face more of these counter attacking sides, the CL or the EL?

I want to get top 4.

But realistically we are nowhere near Champions League level at the moment.

I think scraping in to the top 4, while being an achievement, would cove up several issues (much like under Conte)

There is away to play against us, im sure Ange is pretty clever and if there is away to play against us if teams do it surly its a bit of rock paper sissor so if they use tactic a it allows us to surly change to counter them and create over loads elsewhere?

with experience, and time im sure the players will learn to see a team is paying a certain way and we will have ways to play around it.
