Have the groups been drawn yet?

I'm quite poor at keeping track of England these days.

No because the 16 teams for Euro2012 haven't been finalised yet. There's still 4 playoffs to be played to determine the final 4 teams to qualify. I think the draw will take place in the first week of December.

Sure there is.

If you define world class as one of the players you would pick to represent the planet in their possition then it is debatable that he would get in the team. No doubt he is one of the worlds best players, but personally if I was picking a team to play against some imaginary alien football team he would not be in it.

Agreed, same here

I would have

...........................Adebayor
.................Messi....................Ronaldo

Tevez
Ronaldo
Messi
Aguero
Villa
Falcao
Eto

Are all as good if not better.

All world class, and aside from Messi and Ronaldo, all pretty much as good as each other. And that's without including the likes of Van Persie, Ibrahimovic, Higuain probably Gomez and Benzema?

Ronaldo and Messi from that list are the only ones I'd say better.

Could come down to if they draw Spain/Dutch or Ukraine/Poland from the first pot.

yes that is a good point but throughout history England have a terrible record in the Euro's, in last 10 tournaments they have qualified only 6 times and made it out of the group stage only twice

Euro 96 in England and Euro 04 in Portugal

It gives England an excuse for failing which they'd do anyway.
They can take Rooney so if the other players get through the qualifiers one can be dropped in time for the defeat at the knock out stage.

that's a joke.

Violent conduct = 3 match ban.

So what has Rooney done since that changed the law or changed the definition of deliberately kicking someone so it's not violent conduct?

Absloutely disgraceful decision to reduce the ban. What reason is there? If UEFA don't have set rules for the length of a ban for violent conduct that is ridiculous.

Why have the FA appealed this in the first place?

He was banned for 3 games and should have been left at home.
We have spent the last few years going nowhere because several players have been 'bigger' than the team. Do we learn?

No. Rooney is now getting special treatment, will go to the tournament, and play in the 3rd game onwards.

Which of our strikers is going to give 100% knowing they are just there to make up the numbers? How are the rest of the squad going to react knowing that the Billy big balls who let them down with a display of selfish petulance is now getting a 1st class pass into the team?

Some of the appeals the FA have dismissed and added an extra ban on for as frivilious are less of an offence than this. This is going to open up a whole can of worms for the FA.
