So it took Ramos just 4 months to win his first major trophy. I wonder which manager holds the record for winning the fastest trophy in English football. I'm ruling out the Charity Shield, obviously - not sure about the European Super Cup, does that count as a major when it's only one match? I think not. So, in short, who won one of the 3 proper domestic trophies or one of the 3 (now 2) proper European trophies in the shortest time period?

good question I'd like to know the answer too :) - and no the Super Cup is not a major trophy - it's a one off prestige 'friendly' a bit like Charity Shield or the old World Club Championship game

BTW Hutton has set a record according to official site

In doing so, he picked up a winner's medal just three games into his Spurs career and therefore beat the previous record held by Jimmy Neighbour who had made only nine starts plus six substitute appearances prior to his appearance in the successful 1971 final

Tony Barton for Villa in 82 would take some beating.

Yep. Looks like Tony Barton is the current leader - won the European Cup 3 months after taking over from Ron Saunders. This will take some beating, methinks.

Yes but Ramos is going to win a cup every four months!

You read it here first

Ok I'm cheating. I plan to mail him a cup every four months and tell him he won a sweepstakes or something.

Don't tell him though..it's a suprise :shhh: .
