Was chatting with my mate tonight, about the game tomorrow, and next season. We came to the conclusion that we wouldnt mind not getting into Europe next season, as it leaves us free to have a go at other things. We talked about the year we should have been 4th and all that, and how we were out of everything early. So all in all, if we only have one/two things to concentrate on next season, it will be good for our league form, and possible allow us to have a good run in a cup.
If we did do the impossible and finish fourth, what difference would it make if we didn't even reach the knockout stage? If we had have clinched fourth place way back when we might even have been knocked out in the qualifying stages due to our complete lack of experience in Europe at the time.
I feel that it's important to qualify for Europe this season to build on the experience we've garnered from the last three seasons. Also, for the first time since I can remember we have the strength in depth to compete in all cup competitions.
