its a general veiw for every spurs fan that ledley should start at cb for every game because he's the best we've got even though he can't play week in week out. Torres would be the same but even better because our striking options upfront are piss poor compared to him whereas in defence we have better options when ledley cant play.

All im saying is that anyone, knowing our strikeforce, who would turn down torres regardless of his injury problems is a nutcase.

so now you don't mind things that are easily crocked? opportunity costs, opportunity costs.

I like Ledley but I am not happy about all the chopping and changing in the centre of defence. And though I feel guilty every time I say it, I would not have offered him a contract extension. Redknapp has different ideas, however.

I reckon Torres would cost a minimum of £40m and for that kind of money, I would rather get someone who isn't so injury prone. It would be bad value for money, in my opinion.

And worst of all, we don't need someone with Torres' ability to improve our strike force. It's so fucking pathetic that a player who isn't a total clodhopper would make for an upgrade on our current options.

something i do agree with. but for me (and probably a lot of other people) torres is the most "complete" striker in this generation on his day so i'd be happy for us to pay stupid amounts of money for him even if we only get to see those flashes of magic with him in our shirt only for a few months of the season.

It's easy as a fan to say no to Gerrard because it isn't a realistic option.

We're not going to pay his wages, Liverpool won't sell for a fee that we'd offer, he wouldn't want to leave Liverpool for anyone less than Real Madrid or Barcelona at this of his career and it simply isn't going to happen.

I'd rather have Berbatov back.

id only have berbatov over torres if they were both the same age, otherwise it's torres every time.

Berbatov would be half the price and play twice as much and that would be enough for us to win the title.

;-)

He would also sour the dressing room...it has been reported that he was not well-liked first time around, and now their is the added baggage of his scummy behaviour when deserting:evil:

I think most of us realize neither of them will be signing for us but I must admit that I've watched the majority of Utd's league games this season and he never fails to give me a tremendous horn. Yes, he was an arsehole but his technique is out of this world.

torres for me...I think harry can reignite his career

But can Harry reignite his knees (or whatever the problem is)?

Berbatov would be half the price and play twice as much and that would be enough for us to win the title.

Or pose around most of the time, throw up his arms and sulk if he has to move more than a yard to pick up a pass, and generally be a prick except on the rare occasions he takes it into his head to earn his salt?

He can just fuck off and die. ****

He wants the gig at Utd but that could change if he has jackshit to spend. We could try poaching Fat Sam. He reckons he's up there with the very best.
