Hey Dougal, just dropped by to add my condolences to the many offered. The applause would be a nice gesture.

Have you thought of contacting the club regarding putting something I the programme? I have seen it done in the past, and it would be something for you and his family to keep for all time.

Cheers BOF. Wheels are in motion. I’ve been in some sort of contact with the club for a couple of weeks now and I’m sure there’s something they’ll be able to do.

Sorry for your loss mate. Seen it doing the rounds on Spurs twitter, so the message is getting out there!

I'm sad to hear that Dougal, lets hope you can raise the support on Twitter to give him a proper Tottenham farewell.

With the feedback I’m getting so far, it’s the fans that have got this covered. Absolutely fantastic response.

I mentioned to @Arnoldtoo a few weeks back. I only recently realised who I based the best friend on in his book

Random moment tonight. I don’t get out much. Kids are my priority. Irish pub at the end of the road. The head of security used to live below Mick. We are drinking tonight.

Condolences @Dougal, that must be a big loss mate. Good luck with the eulogy. Hard to get through but nice to have the opportunity too.

Sorry @Dougal for your loss. Cancer is a right **** and its unfair for someone to be taken so young.

You will do a great eulogy I am certain - you will do him proud.

Don’t really do presents outside of immediate family. But myself and Michael used to exchange gifts every year. Mainly organised by his sister and my wife. Cos we’re blokes and need a nudge. I lay awake last night thinking how this morning would be tough. We were next door neighbours and spent Christmas as kids running in and out of each others houses comparing toys.

A few days ago I confirmed with the Hospice that took such excellent care of Mick that I would be running for them in the London Marathon in April, by show of thanks.

As we have had a strange few weeks, myself and the wife have put the kids first and will do a bit of shopping in January for our own presents. I only had one present under the tree. A Nike running top with the message, ‘Hope this keeps you warm when youre running for me and the hospice. Love Mike’. I know his sister was behind it as usual but I also know it comes with his full blessing.

Merry Christmas all. Give your loved ones a hug, or a call, and your time. Just make the most of the day.

Thank you to those who already tweeted this and got the word out. I guess this will actually be a thing sooner rather than later now.
