defoe was a victim of "therearestrikersattheclubbetterthanyouitis" he left becasue he had to and we sold becasue the contract was drawing to an end.
he's got 2 in 3 so far... I noticed that Barney has 4 in 5 for Southend so far.

Surprised nobody's mentioned it already, but didn't JD get that all-important first goal at Man City in the quarter-final before being sacrificed with Zokora getting sent off so early? I very much doubt we would have won without JD's contribution, so he deserves much credit for this cup win.

As for Carr, he can suck a fat sweaty geordie dick. :shake:

He probably knows he'll win nothing at Portsmouth, but he wants first team football. Good on him, I say.

im sure, in his mind he sees pompy as a stepping stone. A bit like Crouch going via villa and Soton to liverpool. If he has a good couple of seasons there and a challenging club comes in for him, he will be on his way.

That being said, I don't think its inconceivable that Portsmouth could win the FA Cup. They are a good road team and can beat United on their day and I think we have destroyed Chelsea until they get a new coach, so that's there only other competition. And I would be happy for Jermain if that were to happen.

You know he never actually said anything about 'bigger' clubs?
I thought he said he had several bigger clubs interested in him, didn't he?

might have been someone else, i dunno now - you put the doubt in me, Mr 57!

USA_Spur posted a proper translation of the infamous interview in which all he said was 'other clubs'. The Hate-Mail decided this had to be 'bigger clubs'.

Not that I don't think that he acted like a total cock—and whilst I was originally willing to forgive him his stupidity I haven't been at all happy that he's never offered a proper public apology.

Perhaps some of us should be reminding ourselves that we were contemplating chucking ourselves off the nearest available cliff when he turned us down for the chance of glory.

Carr's wikipedia...

'Stephen Babeson Carr, is a Irish footballer who currently plays for the English Premier League team Newcastle United but should be playing for a team many leagues below this side'

'Many Newcastle United fans give Carr the blame for some costly defeats, and rightly so'

'Current Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan issued an ultimatum to the disgruntled Goal-letterer-innerer saying that if the latter's backside didn't get the [expletive] out of the first team then the former would resign'

Well at least jd is being played now meaning he can show his skill off to the best of his ability (wel sort of because he has no longer got players like JJ passing the ball forward)... but gd luck 2 him...not that he'll need it.

And as for Carr i did all that "it was a bad move for him" when he left so repeating myself wont be much use...
