Watching that video reminded me just how often he gets fouled and how little he hams it up. Part of me wants him to try and get the opposition carded more, and part of me loves the fact that he seems so honest.
serious question. other than pace, name three attributes he does have.I disagree entirely.
Or are you telling me Aaron Lennon has all the attribute to play centre forward, like Theo Walcott has done with great success?
Unbelievable first touch.serious question. other than pace, name three attributes he does have.
I am in two minds about Lennon. One the one side, he's a threat because of his pace and he's deserves a lots of credit for his defensive work. And, as several posters have already pointed out: he does contribute more assist-wise than most seem to "believe".
But then he's also rather limited, depending a lot on his pace but got a poor first touch (and now that most team play defensively vs Spurs it's hard to use pace as a main weapon, particularly when the first touch is relatively poor), he's not much of a shooter and forget about headers. And his dribbles are a bit predictable.
So, the question is: should Spurs swap Lennon for player who most probably will do less defensive work, who's not as fast (naturally) but who's better technically, poses more of a threat in the air, shoots better (with both feet) and less rushed when passing/crossing? Could Spurs afford a quality player who fits that "mold" to improve upon Lennon for it to be worth it?
Unbelievable first touch.
Great ball retention.
Ability to play a killer pass.
Superb work rate to protect his full back.
I gave you a bonus attribute too.

I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. The way he kills a ball dead when it's been hit at him at pace and from distance and height, despite having legs the height of toothpicks, is amazing. You almost never see him miscontrol.
