In FM, i bought Bostock, Scannel, Moses and Ramsey, and stuck them all in my U18 side along with Rose, Parrett etc.

Lets just say i started winning every game 8-0 after that

Well Ramsey's at Sutton United on my game, so don't be so sure

i wish people would stop going on about the 6 + 5 rule, it will neverhappen, its as illegal as my going into my neighbours house, forcibly feeling up his wife and then taking a spoon and battering him to death with it. and as likely as well.

the rule that might happen is the uefa proposed homegrown rule, where every team in european competition will have to submit their registered squad of 25 (as is the case now i believe) and of that 25 a certain amount will have had to have trained with that club, not any club from that nation, but that club, for 3 years between the age of 15 and 21. doesn't have to be a domestic player, but obviously it gives rise to the possibility of more domestic players coming through. but if we stick with him for another year and a half, for instace, taarabt would count. lennon counts, dervite would count in a years time, pekhart to.

if the lack of domestic players at top european clubs continues to be an issue the way to solve it is not with quick fix legislation like these rules, but long term investment into football at the youngest levels so that players are developed to be good enough from an early age. and it takes less money than people think... i dont think argentina or brazilhave that much money to spend on creating top football talent but they constantly do!

It's not a matter of whether 6+5 will happen or not. It's a matter of handling uncertainty, i.e if there is a say 30 percent risk of implementation, the bigger clubs will put that into their calculations and modify policies accordingly.

From an independent Cardiff website:

The Aaron Ramsey transfer saga is set to run a few more days with Tottenham Hotspur rumoured to be lining up a late bid for the 17-year-old. The Welshman has already met up with club officials at Old Trafford; and will soon fly out to Switzerland to meet Arsenal chief Arsene Wenger before discussing terms with Everton boss David Moyes.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton have all had £5million bids accepted for the youngster - and Ramsey has been in discussions about all three about a move.

Liverpool also made a bid for the teenager - though it is understood that the Anfield club were denied permission to speak to a player who seems to be the hottest young property in British football.

Speculation is spreading that Spurs could now be a late-runners in the race to sign Ramsey. Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is looking to strengthen his League Cup-winning squad - and ex-City full-back Chris Gunter has reportedly recommending Ramsey to the Spaniard.

City favour a move to Old Trafford for Ramsey - mainly because United chief executive David Gill has said that the European champions would be prepared to loan the youngster immediately back to City.

United are confident they'll get their man with Gill telling the press: "We're confident of signing Ramsey."

However, a deal is far from being done and with a possible bid from Spurs on the horizon the saga is expected to rumble on into next week.

Where should Ramsey go? Have your say on our messageboard.

He's one for the future and can't see those other teams offering him a big role in the club

i hink that it will happen in some form... and here's the reason why.

the transfer system is illegal as is the transfew window! both of these contravine EU regulations but the clubs agree to self police.
Uefa have more or less stated to the clubs if you take the 6+5 rule to the European union then they will take the transfer system to it.... outcome - Christiano Ronaldo joins Real Madrid for £8m (the cost of paying the remainder of his contract).

clubs wont want that. their assets will be virtually worthless.

From what little I have seen of the lad,we should definitely be sticking in a bid for him - looks a superstar of the not too distant future. The one thing that young Ramsay has is the right mental attitude - anyone can see that he has belief in his own ability, has no fear of anyone and constantly wants the responsibility of having the ball,he wants to make things happen not wait on others. That is the one quality that makes top top players!
I would be absolutely delighted if we signed this lad and I see him as the future captain of whatever team he signs for!

On the bbc this morning

There is some good news for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger however as Arsenal edged closer to signing £5m Aaron Ramsey after Cardiff City's teenager met Wenger in Switzerland on Saturday. (News of the World)

It's not up to the clubs or FIFA, but the EU. One challenge from a European player restricted from playing in England, for example, and FIFA, UEFA, the FA and the club's concerned will find themselves hauled before the courts and their asses fined until they've got no money left, that's even before the player's sued the same parties for restraint of trade.

if you are on a 2 year contract at an office selling paper to the trade and you want to leave to work for another company - you have to give notice of your departure and then leave.

your employers cant say well firstly its september the second so we are outside of the transfer window - you'll have to wait until January 1st and we want £25,000 to transfer your registration to WH smiths.

anyway we are getting waaaay of topic.

Aaron Ramsay - is he all that?

Wenger will probably help him become a very good player, but I can't help but think he has made a mistake going there instead of Man Utd.
